Not much happened over the weekend i'm afraid, just a couple of bits and that was it.

On Saturday night the wife went clubbing with her mates and texted me 'I'm horny, tell me something hot...'

So I replied, 'I'm hot and sweaty, working out'

She sent back, 'ohh what are you working out at the moment? '

I said, 'I'm working out how to flush the massive turd I just curled out'

On with the ITK then.........

I understand that we are the only side interested in Leandro Damiao as not as a replacement. What I mean by that is that other clubs will only come in for him if one of their strikers leave but otherwise won't. We however, are not counting on strikers to leave first before we buy.
We never made a renewed bid which may suggest that we are prepared to play the waiting game for him, but that is just my assumption. The last thing we want to do is get involved in a bidding war.

Gervinho deal is dead it seems (if ever really alive), been blown completely out of the water. Even Newcastle would be prepared to pay higher him wages that us.

Adam Johnson could be a target for us, would be an end of window buy though I hear, all dependent on what City do this summer.

Will have plenty more updates tomorrow afternoon.

As I went to the bus stop, I saw a heavily pregnant woman there.

Ah thanks. Really rubbish stories though, nothing to quote in those so I guess will just ignore it completely.

Being that the majority of ITK that fly's about is usually wide of the mark I really wouldnt judge on wether a signing will be made on no ITK. I'm sure Levy is capable of springing a surprise without it being leaked straight away (i.e. Modric).

I long for the days when we were shit, but the summer activity was world class! 8 in, 6 out.

Anybody has some insight about this lack of transfer activity in and out? If I'm correct even the O'hara to Wolves transfer hasn't been completed yet? We see other clubs doing their business early and I assume we need to prove some sign of intent to our 'star' players like modric, bale and VDV that we're ambitious in the transfer market. Apart from the Damiao transfer, nothing seems close.

Are we being too impatient here? Is it a matter of trimming the squad first?

would be nice to buisness early. Give them time to gel during pre-season. I'm guessing most Players are in holiday mode and it may be a few weeks before we see anything. UTD and LPOOL may of done buisness with the fear of Jones and Hend's price tag rising during the EURO'S.

Is there any chance we can avoid all talk about a certain Croatian midfielder leaving us today unless there is any ITK on him doing so please. Too many people claiming to know what he's thinking, what his priorities ( financial/loyaly) are and predicting his response to crap being stirred up by the media. You dont know, we dont know, only he knows so pls stop going on about it. Especially ( like the weekend) if it all stems from something in the Daily Star and especially because the people that matter have all said it wont happen.

Then it was the same story in January. Last 16 of the CL, well placed in the league, and we tried to do things on the cheap instead of taking the plunge and spending (don't even start with the embarrassing charade of trying for Rossi, Forlan ET al on the last day).

Hardly the statement of intent from a club with CL football to offer.

And now here we all are, reminding each other 'yeah, but it's very early in the window, still'. And guess what? We'll be feverishly f5ing on the last day, hoping for a top class striker.

Isn't everyone on holiday? I dont pick up the phone for work on my holidays, why should they?

All very well but as we know, the problem isnt the transfer fee as such but the wages. not only that a top player will want the high wages but it would probably mean certain ohther players possibly wanting improved terms etc. Untill we are able to generate the extra income ( new stadium) then this is always something we will need to go very careful with. Luckily Levy is very astute and we wont ever be in the position of Leeds a few years ago.
