Out - Walker, Sissoko

In - Barkley, Pereira, Pau, Foyth

How is that shitty? Looks cracking to me.

That's assuming we sign those players (which isn't guaranteed by any means). I wouldn't call it a cracking window.

I'd be happy with the addition of Barkley as he's an upgrade on Sissoko.
Pereira - overseas player, will take a while to settle. Currently not better than Walker.
Pau - he was in our squad last season.
Foyth - still quite raw. Doubtful whether he'll have a meaningful impact next season.

If that's all our incomings, I'd be disappointed.

Let's be careful about posting lists of potential ins and outs.

A&C's ban stick is quivering in anticipation. Also, can't see any ITK on a Sissoko exit whatsoever.

The only sour note is Walker to City but we've done a lot worse and we're charging an extortionate price.
Add Wimmer to the out list. All in all it would be a good window, 1 additional attacker would make it perfect imo. I think we would have enough left from sales to make that one signing too. Would be typical Levy to strengthen without spending any extra.

Think we need another striker, have not heard anything other than King at Bournemouth.
Unless, of course we are more confident re. Janssen this season.

Ali Z also posted this, doesn't look like it made it into the last thread. Two from Germany we've been linked with are Meyer and also the under 21 right back who looked pretty good. Anyway, here's what he said:

No mention of anything else apart from some kid from Germany sorry,

Toljan is the U21 right back, and was easily one of the most impressive in the tournament, aside from the obvious like Asensio. Great quality off of both feet, I could see him going higher up the food chain to be honest. Does lack electric pace though and I think we are looking for that for balance with Trippier.

Meyer is young enough to be considered a kid, and has been linked, but does seem a bit unlikely as he is pretty well known and established.

Just missing that one WOW player to take us up a level. Barkley is decent, but a Hazard-type game changer in one of the front 3 would have made it an amazing window. Let's see, you never know ala VDV and although JJ said Lemar unlikely, he's still not moved clubs anywhere yet...

Yes because no one can afford him.

Hope the Pereira ITK is accurate. Would be great to have a player who can cover WB on both sides.

hertyid..: Real info very thin on ground at the moment I'm afraid. I moaned to my guy about lack of movement and he said "I'm sure there will be something soon" but gave me nothing.

if the ITK is correct its lining up to be a very shitty window

For me Saha and Nelson was probably the worst I can currently remember.

So I think if Walker (who wants to move by all accounts) has to go then yes it is a shame but we have to move on. We have lost better players in the past and usually when we have had a worse team and pretty poor backups (or none!).

If we have to lose him then Trippier isn't the worst back up in history and IF Ricardo comes in at least we are adding some pace to help replace some lost. It sets us up for next few years not just next one or too with KWP in the wings. All youngish all wanting to prove themselves.

With Barkley if he comes it will add improvement to our squad and with Poch magic who knows he might be special. Winks is on his way back too and could have a day. Yes we want more but we are moving forward. Not fast enough perhaps but things are waaaay better than they have been in a long time since supporting Spurs. COYS

I think that kind of signing is required to make the window exciting. The players currently linked with ITK will be a solid evolution but I do think if we are letting a first XI player go it should be for a player of the Lemar ilk. Barkley for me while I like him is an upgrade on the Sissoko role. I guess another attacking pace option either wide or up top (such as King) will suffice as we sadly don't seem to have the resources to go out and get quality on par with our top players...

Perreira would be a good replacement as he offers that rapid pace and intensity that Tripper may lack.
I'm spoken about my belief in Barkley being an excellent signing.
Whereas Pau and Foyth are a couple of astute signings with eyes on the future.
The Italian links lead me to believe we are still looking at one more - who I am convinced is Kean.

I'm convinced, if the latest ITK about Walker leaving and Pereira being targeted is correct, also if the ITK about two incoming, proved to be Barkley as the second, that's a strong opening bit of business. I don't think Pereria will be under pressure to deliver instantly, given Trippier is already here. Barkley obviously won't need to acclimatise to the league, but would need to adapt to Poch's demands, whereas Pereira already looks primed for Poch's style of football.
Lopez and Foyth will be under even less pressure, they are obviously projects for the longer term, quite astute options.
Have to agree though, I think there'll be on more in the pipeline (see what I did there). A pacy forward option, be that Iheanacho based on the media, or can see the theory of Kean based on the Juve ITK.

I think we'll have lost a fairly key performer, but definitely improved the balance on the whole.

Don't like the "very unlikely to happen" part referring to Dier. I get the vibe that if Utd bid big enough we'll sell.
This is true of any player in the world no ? Every player has his price, Barca would sell Messi if someone bid big enough
