True, I was being captain obvious there.

Just seems we are forever reliant on outgoings before incomings; which can prove problematic given the seeming lack of interest currently in our 'deadwood'

None of us should be surprised by the lack of interest in our surplus, the initial valuation probably puts buyers off until later in the window when Levy knocks 20% off, the buyer thinks they have a deal as they are desperate for players but Levy has the price he wanted to start with.
With the exception of Bentley old DL has done pretty well these last few seasons shifting players on, the issue for me is the volume we buy and sell every year, it needs to stop.

It's mainly because they're all on good wages. More than most clubs in our league and foreign leagues can afford.

When Levy is trying to sign these players and fans come out with "pay the extra money Levy, stop haggling, get it done!" This is part of the reason you don't want to overpay. Because if the player doesn't work out its hard to shift them at a later date if you want to try and get your transfer fee back and move them to a club who can pay their wages.
