We've seen this song and dance before. Utd's board know that a) Martial is very popular and b) he's a very good player that is potentially a world class one. Hence the extreme reluctance to sell.

This window however they also know the player is extremely keen to get out and the manager is keen to sell him.

The only way Utd save face is to make the player force the move so that Utd look like they had no choice. In this case I'd suspect they'd need a transfer request from the player before allowing a sale. This way down the line if Martial becomes a star they just blame Mourinho for upsetting the player.

I think the biggest threat to us is Bayern if they do indeed try to push Boateng to Utd as an alternative to Toby. Hope we can get it done though!

We have united 3rd game of the season, any transfers between the club isn't getting done until the final day of the window imo.

You donut, the end of the transfer window is before the first game of the season (y)

Yeah I'm aware of that but both teams will want to limit how much of a pre-season the players get with the other team I reckon.

Doesn't the window for foreign clubs last longer than ours? In that case they could potentially just string us along and then force him abroad after the English window shuts. We need to set a deadline and move on to alternatives if United are not going to play ball.

If we didn't have a player that they wanted I wouldn't give us a snowball in hell's chance. They'd never directly sell him to us but a straight swap for Toby (or whatever the arrangement may be) might just be a good enough convincer...

They can't force him to do anything.

If there is any chance at all of Yanited selling Martial to us then it's going to have to look like they had absolutely no choice. Last year we still weren't their rivals (apparently) but this year the truth is there for all to see. If they want Toby, they're going to have to deal.

Agree with you but shouldn't this make United look long and hard at their Manager who it seems is unable to get the best from Martial and frankly isn't even trying.

This one is quite simple really

Manure will pay what small levy wants for Aldereweld

Small levy will not pay what manure wants for Martial

We will end up buying a cheap alternaive

While manure will end up with one of the best CB in the world

Silly post. Hercules has made clear several times we are prepared to spend big on Martial.

with Martial, if he wants out as others have said it will be through a transfer request, but they will make sure it drags towards the 9th August so he doesn't get a pre-season with us. with Toby and his injuries it would be better to sell ASAP because if he picks up a bad 1 during the WC, we won't be able to sell, and if he doesn't he will be going there pretty fit from serious game time at the WC.

anyway expect a busy day boys and girls (not ITK) but every time I'm out the way this place goes crazy:(

We are obviously tagging Utd along. We are pretending that we are interested in a swap deal with Martial and Toby then a day before the transfer window shuts, boom! We sign Bale and Toby signs a new contract for us! Levy is a genius!
