Heynckes used multiple formations last season. Vidal is very adaptable to different positions, but first and foremost - he's a central midfielder. He wouldn't have a problem slotting into our midfield.

He usually plays the anchorman role. Heynckes gave him licence to roam for much of last season, hence why he was the top scoring midfielder in the Bundesliga. Vidal is the player that we all hoped Jenas would become.
Would compliment Sandro and Modric very well in a midfield three.

Will become a top, top player. Would be a great signing but I can't see it myself

I may be wrong but I think a fair number of his goals were penalties. Explains the slightly high number for someone who does play DM often.

33 games 10 goals 11 assists in the league last year. I'd imagine it would be him OR Diarra, only both if Luka goes perhaps.

I'm surprised nobody has come in for him already. I read somewhere that he has a release clause for about £10 million; in today's market he's worth double that. Heynckes has left Leverkusen and is now at Bayern, so it's no surprise that he's made him a priority.

deadline day for them and we need to act much quicker than that.

Fucking hell. I could feel the love for Vidal emanating from my laptop. If we are after him maybe we'll look to bed him in until January and then if Modric does want to leave we have somewhat of a replacement lined up. Or ideally, Modric fucking loves Vidal and Vucinic so much that he stays and we win the league? :shrug:

Ideally we need to trade Bassong in for an ok homegrown defender so we can take advantage of these foreign bargains.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Juve are in a very similar situation to ourselves at present, although they seem to have more financial clout than we do.

I love the guy,all action,never lies down,can play multiple positions......would be a fantastic addition to any squad and someone I have wanted for a while.

But I don't think he is a realistic target and he will go to Bayern.

Yes he did.

He is playing in this years Copa and scored against Mexico last week.

Fuck this stupid search disablement, I'm sure I singled him out for some praise in the WC, I was very impressed with the Chile midfield who, if I remember correctly gave Spain a better game than anyone else in the whole tournament, they were also a bit unlucky against Brazil weren't they - I'm sure the score flattered Brazil.
