Tough one. Both are hugely intelligent and have fantastic movement and finishing.

The call is that Rossi is much quicker, whereas Falcao is much better in the air and able to play as a lone forward.

Falcao just edges it for me.

Read in a couple of articles (one was Vickery, the other escapes me) and they both said that they had doubts whether Falcao could play the lone striker role in the Prem.

Only saw a couple of Porto's Euro games this year, and he did look very good in that team. But there is a step up; in class, physicality and sheer speed of the game over here. I like him but im not sure at £30M+, especially if someone like Adebayor was available for quite a lot cheaper.

If I could only have one it would be this order:

Adebayor
Falcao
Rossi

Adebayor clearly fits what we need most of the three.

I haven't seen shit loads of Falcao but what I have seen I think will work better for us - he's quite a robust fucker who's happy to go in where it hurts to score and would allow VDV to do his thing.

Agreed, although it would be more exciting to sign one of the other two, Adebayor imo is exactly what we need!

If we bought one of Falcao/Rossi/Adebayor, Drogba and Leandro I'd erect a statue of Levy and harry in my garden. And it wouldn't be the only thing I'd erect that day either

if we sign adebayor ill be very disapointed. i donr rate him at all really..dont care about ex arsenal stuff but i think he is not much better than what we have. much of a muchness.

Ask yourself this.....

Would Real Madrid come in for Crouch? Defoe? Keane? Pav?

They did for Adebayor, theres a reason for that!!

Its because he is a good deal better than what we have and they are not at all much of a muchness.

He is stronger, faster, better in the air, a better goal scorer than all of our current crop.

Yeah I was posting the link which Ryan was referring to.

The colours and Americano sort of tie in, but the other cryptic stuff doesn't. Meh.

It's not outside of the realms of possibility that Rossi would sign for us, It was only back in January that he seemed the most likely of our attempted Spanish signings. Even Peanut, the most pessimistic (and possibly accurate) of ITKs thought that he would be the one we would sign, as did Sid Lowe. Granted, his profile is higher now and if Barcelona do go in for him we know who he will choose but we can live in hope.

Anyways, back to the ITKs. Archie on SO has responded to the previous Leandro ITK

wages are the issue, still the third party scenario and how wages are paid and to whom!

and then when asked if a fee has been agreed

dont know, deal is close but still these issues.. i honestly dont know as not an easy one!

ive read many times that falcao is poor with his back to goal... i also think he would miss the link up with hulk which is excellent, they are on the same wave length.

Rossi could play as a lone forward because his movement is that good.... as a result the whole team would play much better rather than the bullshit lump it to the tall guy anti-football we've been playing recently.

t seems to me looking in on this Leandro deal. Will are trying to bend the rules regarding payments and 3rd party ownership. Its clearly not allowed over here, but we are going to find another way to fund it.

Just my opinion though

No, he's able to play with two partners. When asked to play the lone forward for Columbia, he has not been up to the task. He doesn't hold the ball well.

But that's okay, because we don't play a lone striker. We deploy our forwards with VDV as a secondary or with a target man.

But he's not some glorious english #9. That would be more Leandro.

Personally I think the big problem was that either Crouch or Pav was too isolated in the 2nd half of last season. VDV was dropping too deep when played off the striker, and neither of our wide players have the mentality of a genuine forward and were looking to get in the box.

This is very true, lost count of the number of times I have said this. Even if we signed some 'super striker' this summer, if we continue to play the same way I fear we will stillsee the same problems occuring. If we are going to play one up front our wide players need to adapt (or be changed) so that they are more adept at cutting inside to support and chipping in with more goals.

Based on Archibald's latest ITK, it seems like just a matter of time before the Leandro deal is finalised. Once we figure out how to pay him to get around the 3rd party ownership issue, then he'll be a Tottenham player.
