Hertyid on coys:
We certainly aren't going to spend 50-70m on one player.

I have heard nothing to indicate we are close to signing Pereira
.

If that is what hertiyid meant when he talked about not signing expensive players, I'm less worried. I don't think anyone was expecting us to use 50-70m on one player, but 30m still buys you a decent player (or a Sissoko...) these days.

Hertyids ITK lately is so depressing! Hope we haven't sanctioned the sale of Walker without replacement lined up! I know Trippier will be first choice but don't want another scenario where we had Kane and sold Soldado and Ade and didn't replace them for 2 years

I get the feeling Poch will assess KWP in pre-season. So if he fails to impress, any move for a backup RB could be a late one.

I don't have a problem with this, from what the youth watchers say, he's talented, seems to deserve a go after the World Cup too.

We could spunk £20 odd million on Pereria, who's just as untested in the premier league.

And more to the point, has not ever been involved in a Pochettino squad whereas KWP has at least been in the fold. So many great things heard about him - especially from @WindyCOYS, that's COYS for Come On You Spurs.

The windy bit made me chuckle :)

Players always seem to need a season to acclimatise to the Poch way, some obviously hit the ground running like Dele. But not everyone is that good are they. I'm more than happy for him to throw in youth players that have been in and around the squad, in fact I'd like to see it done more, with the likes of Onomah and Edwards, got to be better than putting Sissoko on to try and change a game hasn't it?

Walker going to City has annoyed me, but I'm much less concerned about his absence in the squad than the ramifications of selling our players to title rivals.

To be fair I don't think there's a player in that price bracket that would fit in our wage budget, so goes without saying really.

I'd hope with the money in we'd try be in the market for someone in at a new record price, Lemar/Zaha both would have been. Not for the sake of it obviously, there are some decent options out there like Barkley and Kovacic that could be lower.

Whether or not you're concerned about buying a replacement RB, given that we have Trippier and KWP, surely everyone would like us to sign someone to improve the squad. It's generally acknowledged that bringing in new signings early is preferential to last minute, so the lack of ITK on imminent incomings is pretty concerning and I'm surprised how relaxed some people are about it.

Well. that is the only way we could actually improve our first team. Players who can do that will be in this price bracket...

Remember that all this needless austerity is only brought upon us by Levy's greed. He won't issue new shares but build the entire stadium with expensive loans and retained earnings. Our ability to win trophy's is being sacrificed for the sake of ENIC's profits...

For me that's a concern. I believe we're the only team now in the premiership who hasn't signed anyone and we're now back in pre-season.

"Sign someone! Anyone!"

Not for me. I think the calm is because another year of the same squad with the Pochettino Magic is enough for quite a few. I don't particularly want a big fancy Dan swaggering in to upset the harmony of the squad. Young or Premier League (preferably Pochettino-experienced) players if any for me (like Wanyama).

we will do business so we need to chill but I agree it is looking very underwhelming at present so understand the frustrations. The bit for me is leaving it all till the end of the window again and have clearly not learnt from previous summers, even though we were told numerous times, the club have learnt from the last 2 summers.... this I believe is what is causing the frustration for everyone.

Rest assured we will spend, you don't have to be ITK to know that but if its what we want/need we will have to wait and see. We have currently weakened the squad and first 11 by selling walker IMO, so the next 7 weeks are critical to success, we have to do something this season in terms of winning a trophy.

Do you think our squad is currently good enough to challenge on all fronts this season? (A loaded question I know). I think the worry is it's not and we'll be left with Sissoko's if we don't sort it soon. Our best signings tend to be early in the window.

Isn't there a middle ground between signing nobody at all and a swaggering fancy Dan?

I mean I did say "sign someone to improve the squad." We have some great youth prospects coming through which is positive, but there are still weaknesses in our squad, and it's highly unlikely that Onomah, Edwards and KWP are going to be the difference between us finishing 2nd and 1st.

All the ITK points towards Poch wanting to bring in new players, so he obviously doesn't have as much faith in our current crop as a number of SC members.
