No question we need some additions. It'll be interesting to see what goes on. Central Midfield and Striker are calling out for players and the likes of Mason, Carroll and Chadli should really be sold to fund some incoming players.

Could do with Batshuayi being done before the Euros. Lots of encouraging ITK so far but the quicker we get this sewn up the better

Hertyid on COYS:
Poch went naffing apocalyptic after the game. Then came out and gave post-match press interviews and his nose was still bright red from all the shouting.

There will be some departures this summer.
That's all well and good, however I do hope he has taken a look at himself too because some of his decisions led to that today. Unless he put trust in some players who let him down by not paying attention to instructions.

Without turning this into a game of guess the departures, I can't see too many people from the game today leaving in the summer considering we only just tied half of them down to new contracts?

I can. We can't really afford to pussy foot around with the squad if we want to compete long term.

It's been obvious for months that Chadli, Mason, Carroll can't step up. Son & N'Jie need another season but are currently in that pile. Eriksen + Co need real competition.

Dembele & Alli let themselves, us and the squad down by not being available due to inability control their temperament.
Not saying that Mason & Co are exempt from blame, but if both hadn't reacted against WBA/Chelsea we would have had a stable midfield yesterday.

That's the key here - for years we have needed a settled team, some consistency. Now we need to have the competition for places too... Glad I'm not a manager!
For me, I would love to see a decent striker who can partner/swap in for Kane, a good AM and a DM. I think we are sorted everywhere else at the moment but need to be able to offer real quality AND choice in these positions.

Let's hope the disaster that was yesterday could have a silver lining in that it shows to Poch exactly who he can and cannot rely on. That is important. If it means a few people need to go and some unfashionable but solid players come in who he can trust to give 100% every match then that is fine by me.

And a decent left back to provide competition for Rose.

Could not agree more. These are the 3 positions we need to improve. A striker, Attacking midfielder (who scores!) and a DM/CM. Cant see Chadli, Mason and Carroll doing the job. I can see Bentalab going as well. Has not figured of late at all and maybe should have. Like the talk of Batman coming in though!

Hertyid's recent info is the same as mine about Wembley and that Poch went ape shit yesterday. Been told expect most of our business done before the Euros start and Incomings not reliant on sales. I was told last Sunday to expect 3 "first teamers" but this morning was told it could be as many as 5.
Poch was really hurt yesterday and shocked players he thought he could rely on didn't turn up he may now go for a couple of players that he has worked with before. Calum Wilson was mentioned last summer and may be on the cards again. Eriksen will have competition next season.
Players will be fearful of preseason after yesterday apparently Poch has got a very unforgiving memory

Don't think this was transferred over for the itk thread...

Up to 5 first team players!

Cheers for the info @Grey Fox

It looks as though Bentaleb's rehabilitation after his knee operation in March wasn't quite as rapid as people had hoped, but he was never expected to get back into training to make a serious impact before the end of the season.
