When itk says first teamers does that mean from out best eleven or the usual 18 man squad? If it's the latter then it'll be Mason, Chadli and maybe even Davies and possibly walker imo.

grey fox:"Poch was really hurt yesterday and shocked players he thought he could rely on didn't turn up he may now go for a couple of players that he has worked with before."

It looks as though Bentaleb's rehabilitation after his knee operation in March wasn't quite as rapid as people had hoped, but he was never expected to get back into training to make a serious impact before the end of the season.
Fair enough. Didn't know that. Still wonder about him. Read a number of things that indicate he is not happy. (or attitude is not where it should be!)

Dembele & Alli let themselves, us and the squad down by not being available due to inability control their temperament.
Not saying that Mason & Co are exempt from blame, but if both hadn't reacted against WBA/Chelsea we would have had a stable midfield yesterday.

I agree, I wonder if we would have had Alli and Dembele would we have gotten that point ( I think we would). And if that was the case would we all be having this conversation right now? I think it is obvious we would need to build some extra strength and cover into the team over the summer, but not the panic I am seeing in this thread.

The "regular squad" players who are at risk for me are Mason, Carroll, Onomah, and maybe Chadli? Then there is Clinton and Son - will they give them another season? For me probably good enough to be in the squad, and I think I would include Chadli in that, but they are not first team players at all.

I really, really hope that we get players in and we get to work with them and hit the ground running at the start of the season.

Next season could be a real reality check, I don't think we will see City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool perform so badly. or Leicester performing so well - So I am afraid we will be back in the scrap for 4th, and based on this unusual season and our squad I think that is about where we deserve to be to be honest - Levy will not start investing in players with the new stadium coming up so we need to face the reality of trying to scape fourth again.

It has been a strange season, I mean if you told me we would finish 3rd and I would be disappointed at the start of the season I would have said you were crazy. But the manner in which we handed 2nd to Arsenal was a disgrace, and it hurt very much - so much so that at this point I am unable to celebrate our 3rd pace finish at all, how crazy is that. Hopefully as time marches on, I stop seeing Gooners on social media laughing at us, and hearing in the press how Spurs did it again #spursey - and the Euro's hit full swing and Harry Kane becomes the star for England, I will recover and look back on a very successful season for the club I love so much!

Wanyama is the obvious guess. Is he not down to his last year of contract?

think it means players who could easily overturn the current starting 11

@Grey Fox 's info doesn't surprise me. Based on Poch's reaction, I genuinely feel yesterday's result may have changed his perception of our players. He was shocked and seriously hurt IMO.

If poch was to bring in players he's worked with before I think I'd rather have more experienced players with a winning mentality, but I have no idea who that could be.

Poch told him not to go on international duty so soon after recovering from his injury, he then got injured worse. Poch wasn't happy.
