So Gio wants to go to Seville, and we want him to go to Udinese. Seville have wanted him for a few weeks now, by all accounts. So, we have stopped both Seville and Udinese completing their striker purchases/sales, and that means that other teams out there are probably in a knock-on situation, waiting for these two to finalise deals. What goes round comes around. We are cutting our nose off to spite our face. If we sold him to Seville two or three weeks ago, maybe that would have freed up some other players, maybe some that we would like to buy?

Palacios and Crouch were rumoured to be at the Stoke game yesterday so might stay up there and complete today - another c.£100k in wages and £18m in fees.

That was for 10%. £0.5m if we are lucky. Was it worth the delay? We'll never know, but there has to be some cost associated with all these delays.

If you were selling your car and wanted 6k for it and someone offered it why the hell would you then happily accept an offer from someone who was only willing to pay 4k???
