Well we can say that, but we are still a few over the 25 man limit at the moment Schitz. If we can move Hutton and GDS, then I think we have space for a striker.

And I was fairly confident we could but that Levy might be trying to get the best deal. Moving Robbie for scratch kind of points to him not holding out for more money and that maybe nobody has really come in for our players. It has me worried. But hopefully soon and we can get in a new forward.

Surely with Keane gone we can expect a replacement. I hadn't been feeling too optimistic about getting a new striker before, but if we start with a 442, it's not great only having one option on the bench, is it? I'm sure Harry and Levy realise this. VDV will surely be injured at various points throughout the season too, so it leaves us a little short. We need Adebayor!

unfortunately VDV seems to be regularly getting little injuries so we def need someone in...keane hasnt played much for us ove r last year tho so im not sure his exit will prompt much movement tho i hope im wrong:shrug:

i hope cm itk about cahill is true. by sounds of it we have only 3 fit center halves and bassong is one. he wud be a immense signing. i think after weekend harry must have been even more impressed.

He was always an option though, a last resort. And he did play more games than I realised. We have no one to fall back on now.

They initially moved Gio to the Professionals page, then shortly moved him back but 'took his number' I suspect he's still with us and is still #17, you know what our official site is like.

My friend is a Spanish football journo working in this country for marca. She knew ramos very well and has kept in touch with poyet - dans source ...
He told her when She went to see him at Brighton recently that he had no idea what was going on with spurs when ramos was there. He didn't even find out the team until it was announced to the players. Not surprised he didn't know about berbatov...

Poyet said himself that he wasn't even consulted about substitutions, let alone transfer targets. It was actually Keane he knew nothing about, but still…

This is true, but we had more players in January and coped. I think there will always be takers for the deadwood on loan as a last resort, but I suspect Levy would rather try and shift them permanently first. I know it's easy to say, being a fan, but I think our priority should be to get the right players in. We can't leave everything the way we are. Our current frontline simply isn't good enough for where we want to be. I know Levy is probably working his bollocks off to ensure that, but it is frustrating just sitting by and only being faced with news like 'Oyenuga to Bury for a month.' We are seriously being left for dead in this window.

We have a post from a member with good connections who doesn't wish to be ITK that it was Hughes who initially okayed Corluka to us.

I find that quite hard to believe, as I distinctly remember a very miffed looking Hughes giving an interview saying how Corluka will only be sold if it's in the interest of ManC. Didn't we also have ITK at the time about how Hughes had blown his stack when informed that Corluka was being sold without his consent ?

Oh Windy covered this on his blog.

Essentially, if the squad were named today, we would be forced to leave out five players - they would not be eligible to play in Premier League matches. The decisions would be simple enough - Alnwick, Button, Livermore, dos Santos and probably Bentley would be left out, presumably with all five being loaned to other clubs or used in the Europa League.

So we hae to shift 4 because his post was pre-Keane. I though Alnwick had already been loaned to Boro. But if we dismiss the two keepers, then it is 3 to bring in one. 4 for 2 and so forth.

loans to lower league teams can be done at any time though right? Also, does Livermore count towards the 25 man squad or is he young enough not to?

Yes you are correct I remember it was in one of the red tops back in the day so debatable if it was ever true.

All we had then for rumour mill was them dodgy phone lines at about 1 pound a minute.

And I don't mean the perv lines.

Ha ha yes and they always had sensational headline every day like "superstar to sign"...then the likes of chris armstrong signed! ha ha i was actually happy with that tho it was around the time bergkamp signed for arsenal and i wished we had paid a touch more for him instead!

ha ha i remember that headline...that would have been one amazing signing....a signing like that and i wonder where we would be now- maybe we'd have won titles at the rate united have...i still maintain that if we'd signed bergkamp that we'd have won titles much like arsenal did....isnt bergkamp a spurs fan too?
