I cannot believe anyone would want berbatov back, the disrespectful way he treated us was a disgrace and even if you have a short memory and forgive him, he is not good enough anymore. He is older and slower and we are better now than we were then. We need pace and movement upfront, we already have plenty of players who can put a good ball through, we just don't have anyone to run onto them.

Jenas isn't a world beater, but he's a far better player than most give him credit for, and the man deserves some respect.

Yes he's played poorly for us. He's also played brilliantly for us. He's never complained when dropped to the subs bench, but has put in some of the best subs performances for Spurs in recent years.

He's clearly seen as a bit of a joke by some.

I see him as a talented player that lacks the natural inclination towards consistency. He's no Messi, but he's a hell of a lot better than a lot of people are making him out to be...and the truth is we're lucky that he's prepared to be a utility player.

He is a great squad player.... There is no way of improving upon him in his role without spending a pointless amount of money.

Palacios shouldn't be sold now at all (and he shouldn't anyway) if Sandro's out for 3 months. Why bring in a newbie when we have someone ready to play who's excellent?

I'd still take Diarra/Vidal just sell Tom/Jenas...

I completely agree.
I can see us selling Palacios, missing out on a proper replacement, and ending up with with a huge hole in the centre of our midfield.

If we bought just one striker....say Vucinic....is it only me that thinks he's a cert for long term injury during the Everton match?! We definately need to buy two imo.

Also if Modric actually did refuse to play (really cant see him doing that) and i mean into the season to....surely its within our right to just fine him every week...so he'd have no income? im sure he'd start to play then!

Jenas is on the periphery and is obviously happy with that, or he would be seeking to move.

I think Jenas is a decent enough player no more, no less...as far as Premier League standards go I would say he's in the average bracket.

But imagine Chelsea tapping up our best player and then wanting a favour in terms of loaning another player, even if it was something we would of considered despite the on going saga.

Let's call a spade a spade..........Palacios ain't getting games therefore the manager has lost faith in him.

It appears that Diarra will be his replacement and to be honest....he is a better player than Wilson..........if that's the way things pan out..I will be happy.

Jenas could be here for 10 more years and we'd still be having the same discussions concerning him come the end of those 10 years

I know...I think its because some sections give him too much stick and then you get people really over compensating for him in terms of defending him.

Like most things the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Total over reaction.

Sorry mate. I like you as a poster..so wasn't having a go at you at all.

This. Jenas is the definition of a talented player with average effort.

you sir can have some late night repping :shifty:

Why thank you sir.

So did I just dream the 'no transfer request' story on SSN, it was on a couple of hours ago. Not that I believe a word they say these days! It was a passing comment rather than a main story.

I know we go through this every transfer window, but is there any chance of us unveiling a signing over the weekend considering we are supposed to inform the stock market prior to official announcement? Or are we looking at monday the earliest for major signings?(ok we all know it will be deadline day again!)

I like Jenas. I always have. He's never going to be a Modric, Bale, VDV or even a Palacios...but the guy can rise to the challenge if needed, and doesn't seem to consider himself above a place on the bench.

Jenas looks like the dream player for us right now..readfy to play anywhere. Like Kranjcar but with less belief in his natural talent.

Vucinic has been quality for Roma for years now, and in that time he has had some pretty decent competition for his place. Would be over the moon if we signed him, a close second would be to have Berba back. Pretty similar, but I feel Vucinic wants a fresh start and would WANT to play for us. I can only see Berba returning as a last resort from both parties. Even 15m seems cheap for a player of Vucinic's quality.
