As I thought and it's completely understandable. I wonder if we'd be willing to ship him out to get Schneiderlin/Remy though...

So many variables this summer with our transfers. Only 2 weeks left now.

Deadline Day will be an epic IMO.

I've got a feeling that Lennon wouldn't want to leave either. He seems very comfortable with life over here. Don't see us selling either, to be honest.

I hope so to in a way because I don't want us to take any risks. I'll admit it though, I do love it when we have exciting deadline days with incomings.

Summer 2012 was exciting and depressing at the same time though and it highlighted the good and the bad of Deadline Days.


TBH, this whole "Levy loves Deadline Day" is a myth.

I think there's only so far you can go when coaching a player's mentality too. Some players will always be greedy no matter what. Robben, for example, gets away with it because he's just damn good. Andros isn't, and I very much doubt he will be that level, but he can be a good player nonetheless. However, that's down to him as much as it is his coaches. If he doesn't change his own mentality then he'll achieve nothing.

My worry is are we going to score enough goals. We missed a shit load of chances last season. This needs to improve this season and that's why I would be looking at Remy.

When Sherwood took over we started scoring goals average about 2 a game.
But we started conceding a lot. The big issue IMO is defence and midfield protection of the defence.

I think there's enough raw ability there for Poch to carve out a player.

Lennon on the other hand has been treading water for nearly a decade

No way we should be loaning him any kids though - they need more accomplished coaching at this stage of their development

Carroll too maybe. There's no point loaning him kids as they won't play and would be pointless. He'll want Kane, no doubt.

Adebayor came in well rested etc...hungry and that made a big difference.

But we can't rely on Ade for a full season. No doubt he'll have his purple patch but when that goes and if Soldado is still struggling in front of goal we'll need a reliable stream of goals coming from somewhere.

I think both points are fair. I would like to see us sign an attacking player, preferably a LWF as I don't think there's enough goals/assists coming from what we have.

We conceded a disgusting amount of goals from individual errors. We need to improve our concentration and decision making at the back. A commanding CB who is athletic enough to play the high line should be the number 1 top priority. I think we're okay for midfield protection in terms of muscle, but I'm not hugely confident on some of our centre midfielder's ability to keep the ball and move it about accurately, or quickly, enough.

Remy isn't clinical but yeah I agree. If was way of replacing Lennon with Remy would be great.
