Townsend has something that can't be coached into a player. Pace.

If he could be coached how best to utilise that gift he'd be one devastating player imo.

Have to disagree, Pace is one of those things that can be trained. People can be naturally quick runners but that doesn't mean other people can't get stronger and run faster. ATs deficiencies are intelligence, vision.

My worry is are we going to score enough goals. We missed a shit load of chances last season. This needs to improve this season and that's why I would be looking at Remy.

Lamela was 2nd highest scorer in Serie A in his last season there IIRC.

Remy's more suited to a team that plays on the break - he doesn't offer anything when you are in possession. I don't think he'd score goals for a top 7 team who have to deal with two organised lines set against them.

How do you know this as fact?

Widely reported that Ade was on £170k a week. When he joined us City agreed to pay £80k of his wages if we paid them £5m.
Soldado was on £20k a week at Valencia (according to news reports) we almost trippled that to either £55k or £58k depending on which stories you read.

Do I know any of this as fact? No, only what is reported.

I'm not that keen on remy but I am concerned about goals being hard to come by in this translational period so in light of any other realistic suggestions and ideally on loan it's probably worth a punt (but not at 80k a week as mentioned earlier).

I'd like him but let's not get mixed up thinking he'll score same amount of goals playing as wing forward. Actually think he's much better playing up top but as alternative to Lennon he's million times more threatening. Still prefer Rodriguez but not sure will wait till Jan.
