Just add an SC Supporter's tag below frequent donors (similar to admin tag). Provide a different fee for it being present for different periods of time. I'm sure seeing others having donated would also promote additional donations.

My donations have been slim recently, I'll admit that, but when my student loan comes through I'll be sure to set some aside for SC, would be lost without you guys here!

Just lift the restraining order and I'll go back to turning up at your house once a month with a giant novelty cheque.

I told you, I promise to wear more than just a bow tie from now on.

It's pleasing that so many posters spend so much energy on coming up with alternatives to the present donation system. How about putting that energy into making or fund raising donations.
You can for instance make a payment via paypal,
or if you want to put all those entrepreneural forces this thread has seen into motion, set up a crowdfunding profile, get a few big Spurs-related twitter accounts on board to tweet about it, and contribute within the present donation based system.

Dunno if I count as a big spurs related account at just over 2.5k followers but I'd be glad to help. Could ask some other larger accounts if they're willing to help too

Cool, yeah, 2.5k is a good start.
Since SC is not an actual registered NGO, I'm pretty sure we need to use one of the more low key crowd funding sites. A donation to SC wouldn't really be tied in with gift aid etc, so we'd need a more plain platform simply for the payment solution.
I mean, we could also simply spread the word via twitter, but I wonder if having an actual fundraising profile might trigger more people to donate?

You would like to think that all relevant parties are thinking the same but i cant help feeling that we are going to be left dissapointed come the end of august.
The club have done some good work in finding someone like poch who has shaped the side remarkably well so far, but i always feel that we are always left 1/2 players short every window leaving us always nearly but not quite.

That's what worries me and eventually Poch will get pissed off with it and fuck off!!!

I'd imagine advert money may add more than what that would bring in unless alot of people sign up for it. Maybe if you open up the mod forum to subscribers and let us see how much they shit on us regular people:sneaky:

Or close off the itk portion of the board to subscribers only. But that might cause alot of backlash.

IMO, if more people made bets with each other on here with the proceeds going to SC it could eventually add up.

I bet that doesn't happen.

Its not just Poch who Levy leaves 1 or 2 players short. The guy has a habit of doing so every year.

I've always had a suspicion that Levy doesn't want spurs to be a top 4 team. At least not yet, it's too early. We only made it last year because all the usual suspects grossly under performed. To be a top 4 team consistently is expensive, it would cost more than the 30 million or so you get for CL qualification, to stay there and maintain it. We all know that "expensive" would go against the grain with Levy. It may change at a later date but that remains to be seen.

EDIT: It seems there are some loons who don't understand the above. Let me put it more clearly. Levy wants top 4 but he doesn't want to pay the price it needs to maintain a top 4 position. Every club wants to be in the top 4, that's obvious, but it's more expensive to stay in top 4 than Levy is prepared to pay.

I realise you are posting in jest, but to be serious, Levy does want CL footie. But, he wants to achieve that with a budget for top 5/6, not a with a budget for top 3/4. And I don't blame him, it's a perfect business model to keep a tight budget suitable for top5/6 and stray into CL once in a while. Because overtaking a steady, long-term top 4 spot overnight costs too much compared to potential revenue. But a top 5 spot with occasional CL footie comes with a far better cost/revenue ratio.

No I didn't post it in jest. I'm serious. What you have said supports what I posted, he doesn't want to be a regular top 4 team, it's too expensive. Every club wants to get into top 4 with a budget lower than top 4, of course, that's obvious but it isn't going to happen often is it.

So Levy doesn't want the huge income from the Champions League or the huge additional sponsorship income that goes to CL clubs ? Yeah that sounds right.

You've missed the point entirely. I covered that point in my post, read what I actually wrote.

I reckon Daniel Levy would prefer to finish just outside the European places so he doesn't have to pay for flights around Europe. :wacky:
