Alfie won't come to us knowing he's going to be a reserve

will anyone join us knowing this?

I've not experienced this much happiness in our 1st team for 30years.

yes other top teams freshen up, though it doesn't guarantee anything. many times winners of the league have freshened up, but hasn't always paid off. Chelsea need to buy plenty to compete next season, at the moment they only have a squad of 15 experienced PL players

He's been consistent in saying this. My point being that as much as your efforts are appreciated, there's no need to keep posting it in here every time he says it.

Use the time saved to go out, have a beer and get stuck across a bird or something :D

Is 'stuck across a bird' the new planking, got visions of some fella just laying on top of a bird sideways while his mates all take photos and high 5.......

I hate people.

Fake news : Suso, Meyer, Marhez, Kovacic.

Only looking to bring in players that can improve first 11. Pereira possible.

Walker - No player should mess with Poch. His exit has not left any unrest with other players.

It's a weird mindset we fans get into when we see others around us buying. It makes us think we are being left behind. So, as much as it seems rather dull that we might end up with a new rb and Barkley, and that we need to show ambition to keep our marquee players, we seem to forget that our squad needs very little in terms of improvement. It's those around us that have to fill holes and then bed in new players. Without sounding overly optimistic, we have the most settled squad in the EPL. We also have very few holes. Yes, depth would be nice in certain areas... But even then, I look at the likes of Jansen and Sissoko (should he stay) and wouldn't be surprised if they improve in their second seasons under Poch.

Hence, I'm really not that fussed when ITK comes back with drips n drabs. Sure doesn't make me wanna reach for the straight razor. Fact is, we are in a rare position... One that many of us older fans have never experienced... A team and manager that is one of the best around.

Just seems like if we don't get Barkley and Pereira we'll sign no one. All our eggs in one basket with those two.

I don't get the Pereira possible bit. If we want him then we pay his release clause. If we are still making up our mind between him and others then seriously what the hell does our scouting team do ? So most likely "possible" means we are trying to low ball Porto and while no doubt many on here will rush out to defend Levy's tactics I think you all need to remember that these very same tactics saw us panic and pay £30m for Sissoko last year. If we want to be a big club at some point we need to start acting like a big club in the transfer market.

Do not blame the scouting team!

There aren't many players around who potentially improve our first 11 that fall within our budget and wage structure....

We don't really need to improve the first eleven. There's more of a problem with our squad options.

JJ said the stuff about lowballing them is BS. Perhaps there's another target that hasn't been mentioned that we're considering.
