Only two regular starters there, Fazio and Bentaleb. Bentaleb first xi place has been taken by Dembele, who is superior, and his bench place has been taken by Winks, who is better. Fazio's first xi place has been taken by Alderweireld, who is better, and his bench place has been taken by Carter Vickers and Wimmer, who are both more suited to Pochettino's system and have far more potential left in them.

Carroll was a youth player who never made it and still fetched us £5,000,000 odd. N'Jie barely made the bench, never mind the first xi. Walker is the first time since Gareth Bale that a current first choice player at the peak of his powers has left us, and with all due respect to full backs the team shouldn't crumble because of the loss of someone in that position, whether his replacement is Trippier, Pereira or KWP.

What we do now have is £50,000,000 to strengthen the areas we are week. Now if I could just bloody figure out where we are weak I'll get my rage on about our lack of signings :D
Son is injured for the start of the season if Kane gets injured who do you play upfront ? Janssen ? You can start raging now.

So that's Walker, Bentaleb, Fazio, N'Jie and Carroll sold since we last signed a player.

Could someone explain to me how that makes us "stronger", as several on here are claiming?

Aside from walker, none of those were anywhere near the first 11, so doesn't weaken us greatly

Which makes me think we are staying with Tripper and KWP..[/

I very much doubt that we have just one right back in mind, if we can't get our first choice we will move on. Same applies to any position we want to cover or improve on.

BEN repeating himself but revealing his source this time:
Manager wants him Ossie said the one he wants most
(barkley)

'tis a bit concerning that Barkley is the prime target. I mean, he's better than Sissoko but he's so samey with what we have. I want explosive, direct, attacking, dribbling, £70m wing forward with 5 star skills and 5 star weak foot and 19 dribbling.

Or, just like anyone a wee bit sparkly, I want dingling and dancing, swinging and swaying, lightning rod like snazzy feet to actually give us that plan b or just something a bit different. And I do not, at any point, mean GKN or N'jie, despite his blonde stripe hairdo.

Take the Walker money, do not pass go, do not collect 200 potatoes and give it directly to AS Monaco enterprises in return for one ex-chart topping Lemar. It's not that easy, I know.

Barkley is definitely Sparkly he's a fantastic dribbler and is a very explosive player. His problem is his decision making and consistency, but he definitely does offer something different and seems to fulfill your criteria a lot more than you seem to think he does.

He's always come across a bit laboured to me. As if everything he does it so deliberate and slow. Mind you I haven't exactly watched every game he's played, just the big ones or against us.
