I would love him here, absolutely love it.. But the fact he wanted out of England and wants to go back home means I'm not even gonna get a 'semi' when. His name is mentioned....sadly he is about as off limits as it get in my opinion. Sad..we should of moved before west ham loan... I remember ITK that we were looking at him at the u21 World Cup or something...
What were his reasons for leaving the UK? If I recall it was to spend more time with his family, but that was hardly accomplished by going to the continent. So it seems to me that unless he decides to go back home to South America then whoever he signs for in Europe won't change his personal circumstances. Plus we can offer him a London lifestyle.

Pure speculation obviously, but "surprise Argentinian" implies someone already known but unexpected and he certainly fits the bill. Plus, at 31, he'd probably be cheaper than he once was so it may bring him within the scope of Levy's consideration (subject to wages).

Yeh something like that, but I think more specifically his wife didn't like London/ England but was ok with Italy as it was closer to their native culture (not geographically, but historically and culturally. Argentina has a huge Italian history population wise and migrant wise historically. This is why many Argentinians have Italian passports and surnames. So in many ways going to 'the old lady' was definately 'closer to home'

I can't contribute much this week, but will be buying 4 to 5 items today, in Amazon through SC. Something for the coffers...

Didn't (we quite recently) secure a 4th place finish for two seasons under HR? Granted one year by some fluke, it wasn't enough for CL...so how can you speak so assuredly of our upcoming failure? Your argument is a strange one
Unfortunately the playing staff and style have regressed somewhat since that time.

Man City and Chelsea have improved significantly since then. Leaving us to scrap it out with Man Utd and Arsenal. That makes it decidedly unlikely in my book.
