There are at least three guesstimates of how much Adebayor earns on here, from £176k a week down to a comparatively reasonable £110k.

I agree with what you are saying there, but doesn't that show us what a fucked up world football has become when most of us would agree that comparatively £110k a week is reasonable?

Oh well, I'd be happy with him signing and he will surely be fired up with many points to prove. If Diarra comes in, Modric stays and we get rid of some of the players linked with moves away whilst signing a younger striker like Leandro then it may prove to be a succesful window in the end.

I'm always on holiday in Spain at the end of the transfer window, coming home to a massive mobile phone bill as I try to find out who we've signed on deadline day. The year Berbatov went with Pav and Campbell coming in did not justify the £100 mobile bill, hopefully this year will be different.

Could the signing of Adebayor attract Rossi to form a partnership with him? If we offer 30m im sure villareal would seel and that would be an amazing partnership.

What if he'd said, 'Dad thought he was awesome. Levy's heading there tomorrow with his cheque-book.'? What he actually said was totally meaningless (or rather, open to several interpretations). It doesn't do anything to help us, but nor does it do anything to hinder us.

Why do people worry about these things?
Wise words.

I think it would take away from our top scorer last season if we do that. I love the thought of VDV behind Adebayor. I'd prefer a wide attacker to Rossi tbh. He may not be as good as Rossi, but Afellay would actually be a better fit for the team imo.

Even if it was the truth from Jamie (which is 50/50), then we'll have someone comparable to or better than Ruiz lined up...for all we know the Ruiz talk was to force something else or we could sign him or any other numbers of possibilities. Adebayor is a great start, if we see him anywhere near his best, he'll score bucketloads IMO.

So quick to jump on HR and all this Levy/Redknapp conjecture-filled 'ITK' is beginning to piss me off along with the agendas on here which I really cannot comprehend (Hi Dan). Still not enough ins yet so I'll give 'Team Levy' a bit of leeway and will be donating to SC.

I think we'll probably/hopefully get our targets.... I think Levy will bite the bullet we might just see those we can't sell going out on loan for the season...we may have to pay a percentage of their wages too.

What I'm saying is. I think as the clock ticks...I don't think we'll be lumbered with our deadwood...we might just regrettably have to loan out rather than sell. As long as we shift a lot off the wage bill we should be ok.

I can't imagine we have no money for players. Believe that's a smokescreen. We haven't made any major signings for 2 years, the money was always there before....plus added Champions League revenue.

Just my thoughts.

Blue seems to be in. If it is a loan deal I can see us trying incredibly hard for Rossi.

To me Rossi is clearly 'yellow'. POTL's ding-dong the other day claimed that we've been after blue and yellow for a while now. HR has been publically praising Rossi for ages, and I'm almost certain that he's the one we want.

Whether we can do enough to get Villareal to sell is another thing, but we must be confident that he'll come if we really are serious about him. Surely his interest would have been sounded out ages ago, that's the way transfers seem to work these days.

Preparing myself for the onslaught of 'Villareal have said he's not for sale' and 'he wants to go to Italy, but I'm convinced that 'yellow' is Rossi.

Yellow is definitely Rossi. Not that the whole blue and yellow thing makes any sense whatsoever outside the ego-cravings of some internet Spurs fan called Pothole.

We may well go all out for Rossi. It's certainly more viable if we are apprently only loaning Adebayor, and don't need to pay his full wages. However, as Mil1lion said, Adebayor and VDV would make a great leading line. Not sure where Rossi would fit in with that, unless VDV was moved out to the right.
