I think even tho it's prob shite, I'd maybe take that. The 3 players mentioned are combined 20m ish, including 2 needed strikers (though ivanovic is average) Plus 25m and not a bad deal really. Use the 25m plus the 'war chest' we already have for a top quality midfielder and defender (once the others are moved on) and I'll be quite happy. Or don't accept Drogba and ask for 30m and use all of that particular dosh for a top striker like Falcao or Julian Joachim.

Regardless of the quality of those 3 or any 3 offered as a make weight is the impact that type of move will have on those players. Sturridge left home for London now gets shipped off again. Drogba clearly gets told Torres is what they want. You can see a situation where all three sulk badly and underperform. The extra 25m just pays thief contracts.

I don't think so, there are so many things that can screw up in swap deals in football...wage, signing on fee, club stature...

it's not like in nhl/mlb/nba where you are basically trading contracts and most players can't do anything about it

It's just a mish mash of all the other stories, basically it comes down to how much they offer and whether Levy will sell or not. Simples.
