Berardi has been on our radar for a few years and remember a couple of years ago there were strong links in a January window. Wouldn't surprise me if that long-held interest and contact has now enabled this to get over the line. Similar in a way to Son as he too was of interest to us when he left Hamburg.

40m euros in this market is probably our limit and beradi would also fit in on the wages scale

Edison Cavani? Italian international, strongly linked in the past few windows and would be a good backup to Kane.

JJ didn't say the location is Italy, just the player is Italian. Are there any Italian players playing for Nice? (France)
First of all - JJ nixed any links to Nice

Second, how do you get that JJ said the "player" is Italian - rather than we are looking in Serie A?

(Of course JJ also tweeted it could be a smokescreen...)

Italy is shaped like a boot. Footballers wear boots. Looks like we are trying to sign a football player.

Having taken 2 minutes 37 seconds to sit back and think about this, I think I would rule out Keita, leaving Berardi as who it might be.

Just can't see Keita being the correct fit ..

- suspect character, exhibited poor professionalism, apparently lacking in work rate
- prefers the left hand side where we have Son
- the Inter stuff

Berardi we have the previous interest across a few years, he seems to favour the right hand side where we have question marks over Lamela and Sissoko right now and there are no reported character concerns. Has good work rate.

He's still not the finished article. Could be that Sassaolo are ready to be convinced into cashing in given that prices are inflated this year and there are no guarantees what will happen in the future

Anyone mentioned the black & white lock screen tweet from JJ? Came across as banter about SC and likely just a riff on blue and yellow but interesting choice of colours, especially taking into account the Juve ITK earlier in the week...
