If we want to change our style of play, we might need to change our manager, or at least refresh the coaching team. In attack, I think Pep and Klopp both get more out of their players than Poch gets out of ours. I think we are now in a position to upgrade pretty much any position, including managers.
Surely just a momentary lapse of reason from Comfortably Numb.

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist? The ITK says "should he leave" I'm sure that pretty much everywhere is an option "should" he leave and we all know that if he's not backed he'll be off
It isn’t just about being backed, he has talked of operating differently, of behaving like a big club, sentiments all fans share, that means not just delivering targets but not delivering them in the final week. The next 4 weeks will tell us whether our owners have switched gears to operate like a big club.

Eriksen is very obviously gone and honestly I think he checked out mentally months ago. He's been a shadow of his true self. I just hope we totally revamp our midfield and attack, because too often this season we look absolutely turgid going forward.

like all ITK take your daily dose of salt with it. I wouldn't be shocked if this news has been put on hold till after the Final.

I really hope the murmurs on Poch are as a warning to the club we need to spend, or perhaps that mention in the press conference might ring true.

with Eriksen having sold his house then either RM or Barca have matched Levy's asking price, or he has sold his house and is going to buy a new one. with the moaning about his form and mentality this season, he has had 1 of his better stats seasons with us. he has been like all our WC players very inconsistent all season. he finished a week earlier than the rest, and then jumped on a plane to play a pre-season match. he has also had an injury this season and not off for long. has been totally overplayed with players falling around him with injuries week in week out.

While I do agree, we also need to realize that we might not be the biggest club after those targets, players may want to see who else is intrested. I'm not sure I'm on board with overpaying on wages just to get them in the door, UTD and the gooners are prime examples of this.

Eriksen plays best when there are two beasts on top of their games in midfield (Dier & Dembele or Wanyama & Dembele) he hasn’t had that this season.

Absolutely spot on!

We simply haven't seen the best of Eriksen this season because we've often struggled in midfield. It's had a massive effect across all aspects of our game, defensively as well as in attack. That's why getting Ndombele and another midfield destroyer should be the absolute priority this summer. Wanyama doesn't have the legs and it would be unreasonable to expect another season like that from Sissoko.

I'd actually pair the two midfield anchors with Winks and then two more advanced playmakers (Eriksen, Alli, Son or Moura) playing behind a lone striker.

Thought Winks was excellent last night, rarely gave the ball away, kept us moving forward. If Poch can continue to develop him, he could be an Iniesta-type of player for Spurs and England for years to come.

Just need those two enforcers beside him - we had that a few years ago when Dembele and Wanyama were at their peak.

I believe Poch loves this club & wants to continue building to reach our potential.
He & the team are still trophy-less. I don't think he'd want to leave that as part of his legacy here.
I honestly feel that there would have been a greater chance of him leaving if we had won yesterday's match.
Having given the club the ultimate trophy in European Club Football would be a resounding final gift.

As for Eriksen, he has been very good for us but I've been sensing some disinterest with him.
He hasn't been his magnificent self for some time. His play, though good, has been uninspired at time & inconsistent.
This could be attributed to the squad being threadbare due to injuries & lack of additions forcing players to play outside their primary roles. It's affected many players. But I'm also not ruling out that he's wanted to leave for some time.

For me, this is the time to make some changes. Despite reaching the CL Final, we have lost far too many times this season. Things may be a little stale & the squad needs freshening up.

If we lost Eriksen & got Lo Celso & Ndombele for a net spend of approx £50m, I'd be pleased.

Did I read in here that ITK’s would have updates this week and were keeping info back until after final?
I cant find anything when reading through previous posts...if so was it just hinted at or did it sound definite?

Only now just ventured onto the internet tonight in order to avoid anything Spurs related to deal with my post match depression! Just can’t shake the feeling to be honest!!

Anyway to see the Poch ITK just compounds the feeling of disappointment tbh, sincerely hope there is nothing in it!

As for Eriksen, I remember before when he was holding out for a new contract his form dipped significantly and it returned after a new deal was agreed, but this time it feels like he has checked out or he is exhausted after 4 years of non stop football. I think it is honestly the right time to sell him and invest in at least 2 alternatives.

Our best team in the past few years revolved around Dembele breaking the line and Eriksen operating between the line of the opposition defence and midfield, this has been non existent for the past 12 months, so a rethink is needed!

Plenty of revisionism going on in here with regards to Eriksen. I remember when people also claimed Trippier was better than Walker when it was clear Kyle was on his way out.

Yes, Eriksen hasn't had his best season, and if he wants out then so be it and we move on without him. But let's not underplay how important he is to us. He covers more ground than anyone else in the team and he's easily our most creative player. It'd be great to add Lo Celso and Ndombele without losing him, but it's extremely unlikely.

I dont think there is any revisionism. Fans understand what a class player he can be. But for one or reason or other he hasn't hit his own peak this season. This is also true for likes of Dele, Kane. But you wont find anyone questioning their role in squad but only Eriksen. The willingness to let go of Eriksen, is entirely down to his contract situation. This is coping mechanism at play from most fans. And I dont think there is anything wrong with that.

This is exactly like Bale situation. It is not about replacing Eriksen like for like. Eriksen brings us creativity & class. If we can get the same from another style of player, then so be it. Instead of spraying money on 5 or 6 players, we have to look for a replacement/upgrade at max 2 high quality players (just like Liverpool did last season)
