Anyone else think it's disrespectful to the fans and club to go blurting to the media like that? (assuming it's true). Luka Modric is the best player I have ever seen in a Spurs shirt but really not happy with the way this has happened. Could be me being bitter though.

No not just you, it stinks, but it was a shrewd move by his advisors...

I really believe this is just one of the indirect consequences of not winning the OS, that was a very important day in THFC history, we cannot compete with some of the "bigger" teams out there and until we get the revenue from a larger stadium we cannot afford to pay the wages that these premidonnas want.

I honestly think the sale of modric will signal a distinct decline in my love of football. I will still watch every spurs game and still want us to win but my heart will not be in the sport as much as it has been in recent times.

It will just make the whole sport seem souless and futile to me, the club will seem incapable of progressing further than it has and we will basically be stuck in limbo possibly even slipping back to the dark ages of midtable nothing.

It will be similar to the England National team, you watch the matches still and hope they win but your soul and belief has gone so in between matches that passion and obsession is lost.

I hear you mate...and if this keeps up I reckon more and more people are going to start to really lose patience with the whole thing...

Its just sickening.

As the great Owen Coyle just siad, strength is not as individuals but as a collective team....We still have a great side.

Im feeling exactly the same. I said to a pal a few weeks ago "If we sell Modric to United or Chelsea then I am done with football"

Its worse than just that, there is clearly a sneaky aim to get the fans to accept this move without having to force it as such.

Him leaving will affect incoming too. Maybe players that wanted to play with him will change their minds now

Possibly, I`d be more inclined to think how much is in their monthly pay packet will affect their decision to join Spurs....

Now come on everyone. We don't HAVE to sell. Remember villa with Liverpool and Gareth Barry? And look at them now... No wait...

What I'm saying is: maybe well sell modric to man city next season... No, that's even worse...

I have it on good authority that Harry intends to use some of the funds from the Modric sale to lure Phil Neville to the Club. He wants to make him captain and sees him in central midfield alongside Sandro.

IF this happens and he leaves us this window, the one, minuscule crumb of comfort (and believe me, it is only a crumb) that I can think of is that when we sold Berba, I'm sure we all felt the same as we do now. And yet 2 years later we were playing CL football.

Oh, that and the fact that Levy wil wring Chelsea dry.

Life goes on. Even if it is as a 'stepping stone club' for the up and coming talents of European football.

Call me thick but i still dont get why we cant offer 100/120k to 1 or 2 players that are top draw, get shot of the likes of keane etc and use part of their money. if the other team players get upset then its tuff titty. they are better players at the end of the day.

For me now is the time to show a big club mentality, let him know we will not sell him this year but if we fail to qualify for cham league then he can leave......i believe thats fair. It would then be up to Levy to ensure we sign some top draw players to give us the best bloody chance to do just that!

Do we all remember gerrard wanted to leave liverpool and didnt same with Fibreglass.....what about Ronaldo? he went to real eventually but on man u's terms. I still believe we are the ones in the posistion of power regardless of what Luka says.

If that some sort of sick joke, you can shut the fuck up right now!

Or...

If that true, you can shut the fuck up right there!
