John Percy, the journo that wrote the story, tweeted a link to the story saying "Fazio close to WBA move after clubs agree fee".
Then we too have to be close on Saido. We would be stupid to not sort this one out as part of the Fazio deal.

Carrol and fazio out. Doesn't weaken us, so hopefully whoever comes in can improve us.

Over on Coys someone said via FTL that Illamerendi (however you spell it) was at Anfield today for the match

Where's the Carroll out come from ? Where's he going ?

Trix about a week ago IIRC.

The media link has been with him going to Villa to replace Delph. Although like Townsend, he may be another who is put off from having seen Sherwood in action first hand.

Berahino to us and fazio to WBA makes sense on so many levels. We need strikers and they get a centre back perfect for Pulis's style of play. Looks like the conversation that guy in America heard levy have about selling fazio was right all along. I thought at the time it was too specific to be a lie.

Well if that's true then I hope we decide to move onto other targets.

3rd game of the season coming up and there are huge shortfalls within our squad.

All good. 5 million not sound a bit on the low side to you though?

Perhaps its been built into the negotiating for Berahino - two separate deals but very much connected.
When you consider we bought him for 8m 12 months ago, it does seem low, however if you look at it as Wimmer is his replacement and we consider him an upgrade at 4.5m, then 5m seems fine.

Hopefully as you say, it's linked into the Berahino deal, meaning we pay less for him.

One things for sure, selling Fazio must mean we are close to a DM, as Dier would need to be a CB option again.

£45m is a flattering offer, but who in the hell would we buy to replace him? Berahino is a great option as a backup ST and WF, but we'd need 2-3 more strikers to replace Kane. You'd have enough money to buy Austin, Berahino, and maybe one more prospect. And we'd likely spend four times Kane's wages to get strikers in.

Steady on son, I love Kane but lets wait till end of this season before we say he's worth 3 players.
