Neither has the skill to take on a player and Davies doesn't have the pace to get back if he goes too far forward. IMO, Davies "attacking" contribution will equate to crossing from deep.
There a vid of him against arsenal in his thread, I think, take a look or youtube.

Wow mate...I'm optimistic at the best of times but that would have me out tripping with the best of them.
It's that that I think he is worth it, but IMO Davies is no better than Rose. In fact if Rose stays and neither has injury problems, I think Rose will end up being 1st choice.

I think Rose shows in patches he'd be better, certainly attacking...but Davies is definitely a more reliable defender and performs more consistently. You know what you're getting every week etc.

Rose has a long way to go to achieve that sort of consistency IMO - and that's what can separate a lot of players.

I promise I'm not telling you lies:

I've just seen a post from a Swansea fan on one of their forums suggesting that they could get Lamela on loan as part of the Davies deal. (It came after rumours of them getting Townsend on loan- won't happen)

Here it is:

If we were to get a player as part of the deal on loan, surely we could be looking at a better option than Townsend.

Lamela
Holtby
Chadli

Plus Rose seems to have an attitude that sucks more than a slutty Dyson in a black hole.

Yesssssss amazing times, we've possibly just got a full back from Swansea.

Is it not the we're gonna get Benzema, Contreau (sp), Dzeko or (insert name of unachievable purchase) thread yet?

Times have changed, we nearly signed Rivaldo once you know

No...but are you saying we should cane him from the off over transfers because he hasn't had the opportunity to earn our trust yet? o_O :)
Did I cane him??
Would people on here want the likes of MS if poch wasn't our manager? Was anyone talking about him prior to poch being appointed?

Re: Davies attacking - most of the time you really only want one FB attacking, so Walker as an attacking wingback, and Davies as a more traditional defensive fullback is fine with me.

I didn't say you did!

I'm saying what's the point on getting on his back about transfers when its him who has to mould a side together and pick from a squad he deems suitable to do so from. Its his style after all that he'll be implementing, obviously.

I think MS is a very good player and did so long before we appointed Poch, and if he wants him I'd definitely be in favour of it.
