I'm not an enormous Harry guy, but I agree with him on this one. Why hire a manager if you don't let him manage the players? If you don't like who he plays from who's available, then either buy better players for him or can his ass. In the end I guess we saw option B come to fruition.

Hope Lewis doesn't do the same with the next manager.

And rightly so in my opinion. Harry was the manager after all.

I just can't see things like this being true. Seems weird. What the hell would be the reasoning behind this?

And rightly so! I was never Harry's biggest fan but simple line is the buck stops with the manager. All goes to shite when others start getting involved with team selection.

Btw Dan, why are you so interested in outing POTL?

I don't like his attitude or style. Comes across as quite bullying and is certainly highly overrated as an ITK. Like my managers, I like my ITKs to have a bit of humanity and integrity about them (like Ryan, JJ and others do). Demystifing POTL is a valuable exercise IMO.

To be completely accurate, JJ didn't say it. He said that it was Harry's version of why he and Lewis had a poor relationship. He didn't say that it had happened, just that he recalled that was what Harry had said had happened.

JJ knows who POTL is (implied it was Frank Trimboli or someone similar) and that he's on holiday at the moment.

Frank Trimboli is probably a good shout actually - he's agent to Lennon, Hudd, Naughton, plus G. Cahill and a few ex-players (Gunter, Sullivan and I Walker) too.

Agents talk to each other. Part of the learning process in tight knit circles. A guess anyway

Deschamps was spoken too; even if it wasn't formal.
Nobody is giving much away but Blanc is flavour of month.
And it will be easy to put either in to the new set up.
Also Deschamps has turned down a big paying job in UAE and hes definitly off.
as soon as news released on Harry i got 40s for Deschamps.

Deschamps is the one but from everything thats going on ive got a FEELING about blanc.

What will actually happen will be loans and average to medium spends. I just hope the next manager has an eye for a bargain like Harry did.

Not ITK by any means, but I am hearing from somebody who definately knows ex players, at least one still involved at the Lane, that agrees with the recent ITK that big things are expected this summer. This "source" texted me re: Harry's probable departure four or five days before it happened, and predicted 6 months ago that Sherwood was/is to take on a bigger role. Still all remains to be seen of course and Iets hope that these positive vibes are true for once!

Harry Redknapp spent close to £100 million on players, where on earth have the penny pinching lines come from? the last window or two may have been quiet, but perhaps thats maybe because we do have a great squad that should have finished third in the Premier League, therefore not really requiring £50million+ pumped into it EVERY window like some people on here seem to want or expect?
