How on earth we managed to quite so brilliantly waste the majority of that Bale money beggars belief. It was like we put it all on Red AND black and the ball landed on Green 0!!!
It's all so easy in hindsight - most people were wetting themselves in anticipation at the time.
There was always likely to have been some failures with the change in leagues etc but don't think anyone would have expected quite as many.
Even majority of those bought last summer haven't been great.
Let's hope for better success this time around - much will depend on how much input Poch has actually had to ensure they suit his system and more importantly how long Poch stays to see the transition through to completion.
Still lacking in areas we know, but the actual number of players who fit his style has grown and once we get a striker and another midfielder in then the squad will be far stronger than last year allowing more resting/rotation of players.

Jan Mølby is actually one of the primary commentators on Danish TV for EPL. Not only is he NOT any fun, his Liverpool bias is doing my head in.
Those biased scousers get every-bloody-where!!

i think the bid is fair

but if i were chairman of west brom id do whatever i could to get another party interested.

thats what the statement was all about

Yep, entirely this.

And also ties in to the long-running ITK that WBA don't mind selling to us, but they are desperately hoping for bids from elsewhere, which can drive the price up. Several ITKs have said this for weeks - and should explain for the benefit of the mouth-breathers why this has dragged on without it being the fault of anyone at THFC. Even if we do slap in a bid of 25m, Peace will want to wait and see if United or another team who need a striker could go higher. As time is running out, he takes it public to flush out the last possible bidders.

Think this'll be done over the weekend or start of next week.

Shame we need a striker so badly - I'd love to leave them right until the last second and then pull out of the deal, after they've already spent all the money they are expecting to get from him. And it'd leave them with 4 strikers who would all be wanting to start regularly.

Ho ho ho. Then we snap up Austin last minute for £12m.

Don't neg me people, it's just a joke.

hertyid on SB/ghostos info: What I've heard too if it's worth anything. To be fair to the WBA Chairman he basically said as much "we live in an age where no club can say never"....

Matter of time now.

I simply cannot believe that WBA have spent money on two strikers with the intention of keeping SB. No way.

He's all ours..........:)

Do you think his agent wouldn't be keeping city, United et al informed then? His statement was managing expectations of his own clubs fans.

Agreed. I mean you NEVER get a chairman say he won't sell for him to eventually sell. That never happens. Not even to Spurs three times.
It wouldn't surprise me if Levy was coaching the WBA chairman on how to play it out in the media.

didn't we have some ITK that SB had done the first part of his medical? If this is true it would have been done with WBA permission surely

they are posturing. Hoping for bigger bids and also making their fans believe that they are digging their heels in but ultimately have no choice in selling

You might want to read jaspers sticky before taking the piss out of spelling. I know you don't mean anything by it, but still.
