Very happy Trippier has signed a new contract but I was under the impression that he had already signed a new contract a couple of months ago . A clear example of the Mandela effect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_memory.

My memory is clearly playing tricks on me. I can't even remember where I parked my hoverbike last night .

His new deal was widely reported in the media as having been signed a while back, when all the players were on holiday. I suspect Spurs just waited to announce till they were back so they could do the Poch pose.

It's a pretty shit cryptic if it's referring to an Italian signing, given that Barkley is an English player who plays for Everton.

Possibly because the Express is reporting that Everton are refusing to pay £50 million for Siggy and instead are likely to trigger Jonathan Viera's £26 million release clause.

Amusingly, Swansea had identified Viera as the player to replace Siggy if he was sold....

So, if Everton are paying £26 million rather than £50 million for their shiny new AM, perhaps their price for Barkley has dropped.
