We are a top 4 team ffs. Scraping for bargains, haggling with a championship side over a supposed 23 y.o. hidden gem, groping around for Manchester cast-offs while desperately trying to flog one of the top defenders in the league, as well as a host of failed bargains from earlier windows... It's all very unseemly.

If the 22 year old turns out to be Dele mark 11, will you complain?

The so called United cast- off is a 70 million pound signing.

According to several ITK's Toby burned his own bridges, big time.

Reality bite: nobody knows what is occurring 100 per cent. Change your underpants, take a few deep ones and hibernate for 3 weeks.

Pathetic really. And watch the spin doctors slowly turn it from being brave to being a little bitch. Praise Levy

Pavard looks a decent player but is miles off Alderweireld. He looks physically weak and I can’t imagine him dominating top premier league strikers like Alderweireld is capable of. I know he’s versatile and young but we need strength and aerial presence.
Possibly right but then vertonghen Sanchez dier and wanyama have more than enough muscle to handle the physical strikers, someone with a bit more agility and comfort on the ball could deal with trickier attackers and be better equipped to turn defence into attack. Not seen much of pavard, just the wc to be honest, so can’t say he’s this player but, if he were it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad move

There was ITK which said it's basically done and is now all down to AV with regards to the timing of it. It really wasn't that long ago!

The fact that we are even debating the promising but raw Grealish is kind of the issue no despite the positive but hardly 100% affirmative ITK. He should be the footnote to an active, progressive, “brave” summer as a promising signing supplementing genuine elite talent befitting a new stadium with exhorbitant prices and backing a manager that has done wonders on a shoe string after 3x CL finishes but instead go into the last few weeks of the window with all the previously bulllish itk newsflow silent, visits of Martial to the stadium followed by Utd seemingly including him in his plans and all quiet on any other activity - of course there could be some left field or stuff under wraps but let’s be clear - the clock is ticking and direct competition are all wrapping things up ruthlessly

To counter this:-

City took over 6 months to sign Mahrez and just lost out on their prime CM target to Chelsea, who themselves are potentially losing key players to Spain and need more signings. I read an article only yesterday about Mourinho's frustration in his bid for a CB, LB and attacking reinforcements. Not much better than us really. Plus ITKs (and by proxy the club) still seem positive and optimistic last time I checked.

Liverpool have done well granted, but Arsenal went down the moneyball route which is easier than what we seem to be aiming for.

Hoping for some more positive ITK today, you'd have to be full BSODL to not be a bit concerned with how things are going...

With the world cup and Liverpool(who claim they wouldn't spend loads) and other clubs spending stupid money on players, we were never going to get our deals done quickly. ITK info has always been getting less and less each window, the club seem to be able to lock down a bit more info that used to free flow out and think this is something people forget and get worried over! I would guess we don't know at least 80% of the transfer activity that goes on!

Let the club's spend stupid money first and then we can move for the targets we want with less chance of others jumping in for then also.

And that is exact why we leave it late. People seem to forget who we are competing with in the market now. Teams with much higher budgets than ours.

Take a look at the league tables all around Europe and you’ll see teams that have a load more money.

By leaving it late it enables us to go under the radar more, the richer clubs have done their business, clubs aren’t as able to command higher fees.

Trix has said all along it will be business as usual. It’s how we’ve been run for the past 15 odd years. Yes it can bite us on the arse but it’s got us to squad we have now.

theres a lot here i disagree with

Firstly we SHOULD be pushing to sign the best players, not the left-overs.

“Thry paid stupid money” Yes but they got the player they needed. Not Plan E.

Secondly the earlier we do it, the more preperation they, and the team have before the season starts.

Currently we are operating a frugal transfer model which (in my opinion) protects ENICs investment, it does NOT support Tottenhams best interests in term of success on the pitch.
