Hola dickweeds

As we begin the sloooow build up to the transfer window actually opening one can only hope the very tall chap with a full head of hair that runs the club has learned his lesson and does his business early this time.

What's that you say? He not tall with a full head of hair? He's a bald headed dwarf? Yeah, yeah I know, I know, but he ain't never gonna learn his lesson neither, so expect the usual.

This morning Mrs A&C said to me that I seemed disinterested and bored whilst slipping her one. Ah well......I suppose I better get back to her and finish what I started.

Meanwhile........At Levy mansions a certain 3ft 6" bald headed person was taking a shower and singing a little song.

"First I was afraid,
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without Kane in our side
But then United made a bid,
I saw the money wanted rid
And I grew strong
My bastards sons will love this song
They got my back
If I sell Kane,
they'll make excuses
Can never do no wrong again
No matter what it is that I decide to do
My bastards sons will have my back and they'll defend me against you

So now go, walk out the door
You're anti-Levy
And you ain't welcome any more........

Suddenly a buzzer interrupted him in full flow, his Gloria Gaynor wig slipped at a crazy angle as his pushed the intercom.

"What is it? ****!"

One of his flunkey's stuttered a bit as he tried to get the words out. "Its Spurs Community.......they've opened the transfer rumours section"

"Fuck" shouted Levy, banging the wall so hard his wig fell to the floor "I bet that **** A&C is already gearing up for a summer of ripping the piss out of me"

His flunkey looked nervous "But you got the BSoDL"

Levy's headed snapped around and he fixed the intercom with his "I might be short but a i'm a fucking big man" stare. "Fat lot of good them ****s are"

END

More as the window progresses

oooooh did you hear that? Your dad don't reckon much on you.

Saps :p

Heh, my Dad's a Premier league Chairman..

I like the sound of the Nike deal.

But until it's actually signed I'm going to assume that we'll have it all sorted, be about to put pen to paper, and then at the last second accidentally sign a £10 per season deal with Le Coq Sportif where we have to name our stadium White Coq Lane.

I don't know the sponsorship market very well but traditionally naming rights do not hold much value is my perception. I think the OS are close to securing something for just 5m a year and that's a stadium which will hold numerous events and had the olympics. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I'm no expert, but I think a naming rights deal is usually far longer than a kit deal. Hence the yearly figure will usually be lower. I'd imagine we'd do well to get anything north of 15m a year for a long deal.

Nike would be a great sponsor mostly because it's rather hard to find an insult that rhythms with it (i.e. white shite lane) which is surely the one number one criteria for any stadium sponsor.

Nike Stadium, pikey stadium. Unless you rhyme Nike with Mike, rather than Mikey.

So if our new stadium is going to be sponsored by Nike, does that mean our shirts will be Nike for the duration of "Nike Heart Lane".

I hope it will be bigger than chelsea one... We will look silly when a team that hasnt even got into europe this season got more money from kit sponsor than spurs...

Yeh but it's also the new home of West Ham, from a sponsorhip perspective the used caravan market isn't what it used to be ;)

Like it or not, we will get less than that lot. Thats the reality. We have to win trophies & grow the global fan base. Once that happens, sponsors would be open to give us a better deal.

Anyway, Chelsea are coming of Adidas partnership 6 years earlier than planned - meaning Chelsea have to pay penalty of 40m to Adidas. Apparently Nike is compensating Chelsea for this with a better deal. So, Chelsea do not make 60m rather something around 40m, which isnt too far from the figure given to our deal

How the fuck would u know what their future plans are?

The same way he "knows" that London will never have an NFL franchise (contrary to everything that's been reported and talked about by league people).

I find this very strange for two reasons:

1) Nike have just today announced an enormous commercial partnership with Chelsea. That's them essentially off the table. What are they going to do - have a Nike Stadium West and a Nike Stadium North?

2) All the industry opinion says we won't start looking for a deal until the year before the stadium opens. Because of the risks of delays, non-completion etc., we'd just get such an inferior deal negotiating this far out, compared with what we would get when the new stands are standing tall and just needing a final coat of paint.

I think this ITK might be Chinese whispers about the Chelsea deal

Nike's deal with Chelsea is to manufacture their kits, nothing to do with their Stadium. Don't think it's been announced yet either (although it obviously will happen).

Only because their stadium isn't far enough along yet. But that is clearly their major long-term strategic partnership for England.

It makes sense too - chav clothing manufacturer for the chav club.

I would assume so. Like Arsenal won't have anyone buy Emirates on the shirt while the stadium deal runs, the same with City and Etihad.

Didn't Nike have Arsenal, United and City all at the sametime? Adidas had United and Chelsea until just now too. I don't think any of the major kit manufacturers put all their eggs in one basket.

As for the stadium rights, it may well be that it's not referring to the actual stadium naming rights. It could just be that we've agreed to tie the kits sponsorship in with a strong brand presence at the stadium.

I'm not surprised that Nike were keen to get the deal tied down early though. Kane and Alli, in particular, are already on their way to becoming big stars and I'm sure Nike are keen to be associated with them for both club and country.
