Oooh Do we become the White Nikes and get nice shiny armour, no wait, that's UA, oh this is all so very confusing. :coffee:

Actually, despite not exactly being pro Nike, I could live with White Nike Lane or Nike Hart Lane. Better than what most of our rivals have ended up with.

However I am more inclined to think Nike will not want the two combined like that and it will be something dull like Nike Stadium/Arena/Egg.

Maybe they'll just call it "The Swoosh"

Nike would be a great sponsor mostly because it's rather hard to find an insult that rhythms with it (i.e. white shite lane) which is surely the one number one criteria for any stadium sponsor.
Well I can think of an obvious one which is, sadly, an anti-Semitic slur - so likely to be jumped on

Like them or not, Nike would certainly be one of the cooler global brands to sponsor a football stadium, certainly in this country and if it's another BIG earner it sounds good to me.

Beats the Bet365 and Vitality stadiums

It may be called The Nike Stadium but it'll be a good few years before i stop calling it White Hart Lane, it's only been 6 years since I stopped calling it Northumberland Park...

Moussa on coys: Someone I know apparently has inside info from his mate that is working on this deal for Nike.
According to him (and I don't know how reliable this source is as I dont know him personally) this deal is all but signed. It was all agreed over a month ago.
As I said, this isn't my source so I cant testify to his credibility, but my mate, who is also a spurs fan, seemed pretty confident.

prof: This matches what Galahad has heard.

galahad was pretty spot on last summer regarding the stadium announcements if you remember. on the minute i think

Money is money but I will be disappointed if Nike is our stadium sponsor

Hardly a premium brand, it is mostly worn by chavs, Jeremy Kyle show guests who churn out 6 kids while never doing a days work, and wanabee gangsta rappers who wear baseball caps back to front, when you go to Sports Direct you see a lot of Nike gear at 60% off

Emirates is a premium brand, Dubai is associated with glamour, luxury, wealth, Nike the opposite extreme, we need a premium brand sponsor

But if Nike money gets us world class players i can stomach it i guess

You gotta look at it another way. We could be the bet Fred stadium, or top tiles. Nike are a huge company and very well respected. Also are very very rich which should make the deal water tight

The only logo I'm bothered about on the shirt and in the stadium is the spurs one. If Nike or any other sponsor gets us the most money, good for us.

Yup, Nike are the largest sporting brand on the planet. Up there with Coke for reputation worldwide.

Couldn't think of a better sporting company to get involved with, esp as they sponsor the NFL and a certain Harry Kane, so will probs encourage him to stay at Spurs.

Respect the info but Nike doesnt do stadium rights. And they wont start now with us. If they do start, it would probably either be a bigger team(no matter the sport) or at the University of Oregon. Not Tottenham Hotspur. Hate to butst your bubbles, guys.

I went to UofO and I'm a massive Duck fan. Being that Big Phil is an alum, and has massive respect for the school and it's heritage there would never be a renaming to something corporate. If they did a complete tear down of Autzen and rebuilt it then maybe, but they have been renovating and expanding it over the past decade so I don't see that happening. Just my two cents. I do agree that it would be a massive deal if Nike ever did do anything with stadium naming rights, you would have to imagine it would be with a large American franchise. BUT, if the NFL is seriously looking at bringing a team to London and if Nike is looking to capture some of the market share that Adidas has in Europe with soccer, Spurs would probably be a good place for them to start.

Would much prefer if we were dealing with Hublot, Qatar Airways, Apple etc rather than Nike, Arsenal having a luxury brand as sponsor kinda means they will be lording it over us if we have a chavvy brand

A luxury stadium should have a luxury sponsor imho

I have to disagree with you about Nike not being a premium brand. Maybe it's just because I'm in the U.S. and things are a bit different in Europe, but in footwear Nike destroys Adidas:

1) Yes, Nike's reputation is different in the US and Europe
2) "Premium" doesn't have to equal "large". You can be a small, yet a premium brand.
3) I personally think Nikes brand for a long time has been too focused on reaching the female mass market of amateur runners with nifty colours and light designs.

Well maybe they are attempting to address your #3 concern? Premium doesn't have to equal large, I agree. But the implication in the statement I quoted was that we should be working towards a sponsorship with a "premium brand". If that's the case, would you consider Adidas, Under Armor, Puma etc etc premium brands?

EDIT: unless you are talking strictly stadium naming rights? If we are doing a package deal with Nike to wear their kits and give them naming rights, you have to assume that it's a very lucrative deal hence the motivation for us doing it. All speculation obviously...
