I'm very excited by the prospect of signing Willian, he is exactly the player we are now missing. I also think it will go some way to convincing AVB that we should be his long term project.

So it would seem that the Willian transfer is gathering pace but I still think this is far from done as not only will the fee be substantial and likely to eclipse Soldado's but his wages are reportedly gigantic too so would have to be a big climbdown to agree.

That being said, his transfer would make a world of difference in the last third and I sincerely hope we manage to pull this one off.

Somehow I read the quote as...

'With a helicopter a thousand things are possible'

Tbh, I'd rather have a helicopter than a helper.

Apparently he has a few options here in the EPL. Liverpool and Man U are interested too... Both have Brazilians already. Think AVB has the edge over Moyes and Rodgers though and I think that could be the difference.

Just hope Citeh don't have any squad numbers left...

Why on Earth would a player wanting to make Brazil's WC squad join a team where he is up against Navas, Jovetic, Silva, Nasri, Aguero, etc. just to get a game.

Presumably the same reason all those players did. The same reason he went to Anzhi.

The monies.

Willian would be a tremendous acquisition. If only to piss off the Scousers once more. They were pretty confident -especially when he added Coutinho and Lucas on his twitter friends list... Until he added Paulinho and Sandro too!

Can't remember where I saw it now so that's why I said 'reportedly' but you'd have to think he's on a fair whack there considering the absurd salary given to Eto'o.

Aye fair comment. I'm just going on Google (I know..). Googled Willian wages and it came up with 2.5m Euro a year. But we obviously know his wages etc so if we've bid, we clearly feel we can offer him a decent package.
