Good morning ITKsters
Yesterday's donation drive raised enough to cover the server costs for a month with a little left over (£380). As you know, any excess goes toward the shortfall the following month.
So there's a huge thank you due to all who donated or are about to donate Thank you, it's appreciated.
Oh and the Lurkers really stepped up yesterday. Nice one. Now all you have to do is start posting more!
PS: Who donated twice in the space of a minute? Please send me a PM.
Today's word of the day is: Hugsies

Hugsies should have been the word for yesterday for Hottie's Birthday.

Are we in danger of slipping back into stereotype?

Low offers to clubs then playing the waiting (dragging) game (Benteke, or so it sounds) and slapping unrealistic prices on our unwanted squad members (according to JJ's snippet).

Deja vu anyone?

Edit; Oh, and donated as promised yesterday.

Not very enamoured with the idea we're possibly selling Townsend, he's a good player, young and quota friendly.

Saying that if it's a case of getting £10m+ in and we've got ideas for who to replace him with, then I guess there's some logic, especially if we're struggling to sell others.

I'd still keep him though.

Wouldn't want Andros to leave unless we've got another pacy winger lined up. He's another homegrown player too. It all depends on the offers we've recieved, we might have had a tempting one, and to be fair there are still question marks about whether he'll make it at Spurs. Personally, I'd like to keep him and give him starts in the EL and cups, as well as being an occasional impact sub in the league to see if he's really up to it.

Townsend is in the category of players 'not bad but could be better'.

We shouldn't sell him if we don't have anyone else coming in, but if we do then it wouldn't be an issue.

So 3 weeks in to the transfer window and 1 month to the start of the new season and we have bought one player and sold none, not looking to good to have a new balanced squad for pre season training that AVB wanted....

I'd prefer townsend to chadli

Really? You'd prefer a very limited player (only offers pace) to a player who is capable of not only getting into a VERY GOOD Belgium team, but offers diversity & has been chosen ahead of the likes of Fellaini?. Fair play, I'm sure Townsend would also be capable of that ;-)

Ooh did JJ's info dissapear?! Was it ever there? Who is Keyser JJ?

As for valuations, I blame Liverpool for overvaluating all British players they have signed! :D

It's opening gambit chaps. Every club asks for more than the realistic price, it's up to the prospective buyer to haggle it down.

I'm sure our true evaluations are lower than the starting price, it's just common sense to start high. If you start at the true valuation then, sure as night follows day, the buyer will attempt to haggle that down too. Who knows, you might get just a little bit more.

Haggling is a lost art in the West, we've gotten too used to paying the asking price right off the bat.

Townsend has yet to be given a good run and chance with us so to say he is one dimensional is rather insulting when you dont know how he will develop with good coaching and direction. You also dont know that Chadli will be any better in the EPL at least Townsend had a good half season with a struggling team and was able to look a star turn for them at a young age. I dont know if he will be a great player or not nobody does but hey lets not slate him before hes even had much opportunity. Reason why we are called SUPPORTERS you know!!! (y)

I don't think Andros will stay unless he has a good shot at playing regularly in the league. This is based on feedback from the guy who sits next to me at WHL who is a friend of Andros' family on his mum's side. He told me at the end of the season that while Andros loves Spurs he wants to play and he thought Spurs would sell him.

The problem is all clubs are over valuing their players at the moment, just look at McCarthy and the price Wigan want

Do players get a loyalty bonus if their contact runs out?
