Bit of light relief:

I just spoke to Ronny Rosenthal on the phone. Pretty weird. My dad and his missus were sitting on the next table at a restaurant, got talking. My dad's missus phoned me and put him on. He was alright and quite chatty. We spoke about the hat trick etc.

He's a 'football consultant' now, I asked him about dealing with Levy. He said DL knew he'd really fucked up by not taking a couple of players Ronny brought to Spurs first that ended up being massive hits elsewhere. He said we would've definitely won the league the last 2 seasons had we signed them. Wouldn't tell me who they were. I said cheers, I'm now off to kill myself. He laughed.

Funnily enough, I bumped into Ronny dining alone at a restaurant local to me recently.

Just as he was paying up, I said "Hey, Ronny, seeing as you're on your own and in the area, do you want to hit the bar?

His response was rather rude, I must say.

Our kids better be world class next season otherwise a couple of major injuries and we're really going to struggle at this rate.

Our 1st XI is good, but our squad is weak. Recent ITK has got me concerned now.

Saw Ronnie in a large 4by4 parking near the schools opposite the ground near the alleyway/church on the high road. With a younger guy who Ronnie appeared to be the agent for. Reversed his car right into a concrete pillar :D

Edit - should have got this ITK approved first, although genuine! :)

really depressing window at moment and no matter what anyone says, we are in a weaker position now then we were at Hull 6 weeks ago.... where as the Sky top 4 are all stronger with signings and no major losses, whereas we have lost Walker.

The ITK points to not much business so I worry for us next year with Wembley too and believe Levy has taken a massive gamble here with the squad and manager as we move into the new stadium, its a dangerous game but I hope the ITK brings us some good news soon, don't expect anything now until after the USA tour.

I was at dinner recently with a highly influential person in the world of PL football (not spurs related) and the subject got on to Spurs as it always does when I talk to football people. This guy was very insightful and he said Spurs have a massive problem at the moment, that they have out performed their wage bill for two-three years now and the upward pressure on wages at the club is immense as players and their agents will only out perform their wage levels for 1-2 years max.

So with transfers we are pretty much reduced to buying players under the age of 25 with potential and lower wages otherwise there will be whole sale revolt in the dressing room with everyone wanting more wages.

He used Kane as an example, apparently Kane's wages are circa £100,000 per week when his true value is £200,000 per week in the current market. How long would anyone stick around in their current job if they were getting paid 1/2 their current rate?

The general feeling is Kyle Walker went as he was the first to make noises about earning potential, and as he had only 3-4 years left at the top he needed to move now and Spurs were not prepared to keep him and upset the wage structure and the dressing room.

With all of this in mind, we are shopping for players in the last year of their contract (Wanyama, Barkley etc.) or unproven players with loads of potential with a success rate of lower than 50:50.

This is why our transfer business is so difficult we are in the 'no-mans land' of transfers. Not rich enough to play at the top table, and too good to buy the shit that the other PL teams are buying.

Look at our team! We lucked out with the fact that young players came good (Rose, Kane), astute buys paid off (Wanyama, Alderviewelrd, Son), Old buys started to perform (Dembele, Vertonghen) and a once in a 20 year occurrence of unearthing Dele Alli!

We have had more than our fair share of luck in the transfer market admittedly offset by Sissoko, Njie, Janssen etc. I get the feeling we will bring in 2-3 max with only 1 impacting the first XI. Looking at past years we have not impacted the first XI by more than 1-2 players each window.

The way this window is going you'll be asking for a refund

Well posted. Spot on all of it apart from the bit in bold. I think even that is optimistic.

Think Levy's playing a dangerous game tbh, if we don't challenge for major honours/ win something this year, i can see a mass exodus next summer, these players aren't going to wait around when they can double their salary and winning potential elsewhere.

I don't want to bring the mood down, but I was told a couple of weeks back to expect a signing by the time the tour kicked off. As this hasn't happened yet I would hazard a guess that things aren't going exactly to plan.

I'm sure we'll turn it around though (y) would be surprised not to see Barkley join this summer.

Yeah I think the club being opimistic is also known as delusion, feel free to cane me with reps

Honestly f*** them all. How crazy is this football market? Sounds like they have trouble to pay their rent or feed their family. "I only earn 100k a week..mimimi"...ffs

Don't wanna cane levy but feel he's well out of his depth in the current market, that's just my opinion before the abuse starts
