Not really surprised that we need to be careful with our money. I'd imagine we've already put a significant outlay into Poch, Kane, Sanchez, Alli and Eriksen's contracts(plus any others I forgot). If we sign before we sell then clubs will be able to knock down our prices just as we'd do to other clubs in a similar situation. Disappointing we haven't seen at least a couple of players move on at this stage though.
My thoughts exactly!

Yup. HY said Martial was done. But Herc wouldn’t be so brave.

Well that’s no marquee signing like we wanted. Disappointed but not really surprised. We are Spurs after all with that little bald headed man!

No. He said this.

Honestly what is going on in here?! Martial isn't joining what's the problem here. Yeah great player but if you believed Man Utd would sell then that's your fault and all ITK is a pinch of salt. @Trix has said god knows how many times about when our business would be. You all believe and get hyped about stuff that is fantasy half the time. Calm down and wait till the last week. Some of you need to pick that dummy up.

My daughter has had less tantrums

All fair points but the implication from Poch and the ITK info was that this summer was shit or get off the pot time. Title challenge or bye bye. We're not going to bridge the gap to City and arguably keep pace with Liverpool and United without Levy changing his policy. The initial ITK was of 150 million spend plus money generated from sales, that's obviously not going to happen. Yeah Poch has signed a new contract and yeah he buys into our prudent financial model but I don't think for a minute he wouldn't jump ship next summer if we've just finished fourth and won nothing.
Its remarkable how people continue to cling onto this '150 million' comment whilst ignoring Trix's almost weekly comments that it will be business as usual this summer - and it will be business as usual again next summer. Its just an act of self-harm.
Edit - sorry Phez, see you got there first!

It's not Trix I'm quoting

If Man U won’t sell martial that does NOT mean the club isn’t backing Poch. We just can’t buy someone if another club won’t sell. Poch will not have expected a cast iron guarantee cos he knows that cannot possibly be given. FWIW I think World Cup meant Man U couldn’t really sell martial immediately cos it would leave them without a full front line to start the season assuming their WC players aren’t ready for the first game.

I’m really really happy to hear about Danny though. Partly cos he has clearly been going through very hard times and it will be good to see him back to his old self, and partly cos a fit Danny will feel like adding a player of real class this window - we were without him for most of last season and a half.

Yes Trix has said business as usual however other ITK’s have said otherwise...well respected ones too so I can understand why people still mention ‘£150m’. Trix has been one of the more consistently grounded throughout the window though.

THIS!

It's not like it was going to be "Martial or I'm gone!" from Poch.

We've been told multiple times before that we have everything lined up and it's how it falls. As long as we don't end up empty handed or with cheap alternatives who are far from competing with our first team then I think it'll be fine as Poch would have signed off on it.

Right everybody, we are definitely signing someone and announcing it by next Wednesday and it will be the centre back/ central midfielder/ wide forward/ Kane back up we desperately need to propel us from mid table mediocrity to World Cup winners! If it doesn’t happen it’s all hercs fault for telling Levy to penny pinch and hoard away all the season ticket revenue for himself because he doesn’t want us to compete at the top.

Oh, and levy’s a bald penny pinching dwarf ****.

(Thanks for the update Herc :) )
Existing players contracts? Where did Herc say new incomings?

Yeah! All around in Tott’nam Town,
They’re trying to track me down...

Maybe Martial has had a chat with Maureen and actually decided to give it another go?

My thoughts too. I was expecting something from his agent ever since he first came out but there's barely been a word.
