If there's no one else in for him or if there are but he's insistent on coming to us, then for once we should be in control of the transfer even if it goes up to the last day. They won't want to keep him in his last year and risk letting him go for a few million in January or nothing next summer. £20/£25m should do it, plus add ons if we win the League cup, FA cup, Premiership, Champions' League, Charity Shield, Super Cup, Euros and World Cup.

Hopefully Barkley signs but I hope 'he's the one Poch wants' refers to Barkley as a player and not to the only one Poch wants. Taking into account Rose and Son's injuries and the will Walker stay or go debacle we're going to have no pace for the 1st few weeks of the season as things stand. As per Trix's positive update on Lemar he or another alike are an essential signing for us this summer.

Why don't you lot just go off and make a whole tree XI, Craig forest in between the sticks, gowon...

Might be the odd knock on Levys door should RB sign but I think generally there are ways and means of keeping basic salary down by paying a signing on bonus, and other stuff like that.

Wouldn't be my choice but high ceiling if he learns to play with his head up a bit more.

Reckon this smacks of Levy asking Poch whether he wants RB or not, and Poch asking if there's anyone else to choose from. At that point Levy says no.

Don't really see a downside to signing a young, athletic player with heaps of natural ability and Premier League experience. Especially considering we have the best manager in the league when it actually comes to improving players. Barkley makes sense on a lot of levels.
I agree

Barkley ticks a lot of boxes.
But does he get in the 11? Probably not.
Does he improve squad depth? Definitely.
I'd be happy enough to sign him and he could prove Poplar. Could see it working out long term.

Rather than in this thread, please take it to the players thread where there's 20-odd pages discussing all this

http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/ross-barkley.128694/page-24

My sincere apologies for this error. Firstly, may I congratulate you on an excellent forum - clearly one of the best if not THE best. As you can see I am new to the forum and I'm still trying to find my way around .Sadly, when it comes to IT technology I am somewhat of a numpty so I don't know how to take my post to the players thread. Any advice on how to do this would be gratefully received.
