I have a feeling the two MS alternatives are Kramer and Lars Bender. I can't see Kramer being sold though if he's just signed a new contract. He would be expensive.

Prices aren't inflated in Germany. Other than Bayern there's not silly money in their game. Most clubs will sell for a fair price

I don't know whether that's a rock solid truth, but they would be thinking in Euro, something that fits a club who thinks in Pounds very well this summer.

I watched Matty Ryan in the game we played against Southend. I have followed him since and think he is turning into a top drawer keeper

By all accounts he has been excellent for Brugge this past season and seems to be getting progressively better each time you hear about him. I think is about to get a pretty fair share of attention from other team I know LFC have been linked to him in the press for example...

Seems like he would be a really good one to sign (possibly loan right back out) and get on the books now....

Just a reminder that media links = start a thread in the Players Thread section. If one already exists for that player then it can go in there.

It isn't ITK.

Matt Ryan would be awesome.

Finally ITK Gods have listened to me. I am sure general perception would be - why bother signing a Aussie goal keeper from Belgian league. Believe me, he has world class potential.

After he joined Brugge, the club has only gone upward. For 2 seasons he has won the Belgian GK of the year award (2014 & 2015) & he almost singlehandedly kept Dnipro at bay in EL Quarters.

IMO, he has better distribution skills than Lloris; Like Lloris, very quick on his feet & helps out high line defense. Liverpool are in for him it seems. But I really hope we go get him.

I remember when we had him on trial watching a few YouTube videos and being impressed.

Would be odd if we got Matt Ryan, would must mean either Lloris would be off or Vorm, no way would we have a world class GK and then 2 very good GK as 2nd and 3rd choice

I guess you missed the Ian Walker, Espen Baardsen and the other fella whose name escapes me days then? :cautious:

Kramer looks slow as fucks, give Stambouli run for his money
Could be our Matic...who isn't the quickest but can stretch out those pins to good effect and has fantastic positional play. He's quite similar by the looks of it; looks to play forward and has great distribution.

Could be a cunning transfer tbh.

Yes, he was on trial at Spurs for 2 weeks, followed by WBA. He took Brugge offer as he was getting first team football

I might be wrong, but I thought at the time it was said that the opinion of Tony Parks was that he was no better than some of the keeper prospects we had at the time, such as David Button.

If we were interested, turning him down once already may not work in our favour... But who knows.

I believe we thought - 'wait & watch' would be good. Clearly Ryan has kicked on since then. Played so well he was the number 1 goalie for Australia WC & has won over Belgian league fans & critics
