Absolutely spot on!! I often have to question whether I support THFC, or Net Spend FC, as some on here much prefer to obsess over the latter, rather than the former.

WTF do people give a shit about the finances for anyway? That's of no concern for any of us, so leave that for Levy to fucking deal with, and try to get behind the head coach, his ideas & his players. It's amazing what a bit of 'support' can do to a team.
Well I think the whole net spend debate, is linked to who we bring in this summer. I'm not sure people are moaning but just pointing out fact. We are about 12 mill up this season so if someone is saying go and get a 25-30 mill player it's just not going to happen. Making champs league will make no difference to this too.

All of those teams have reserve forwards who, while not as good as the star, are still specialists in the position. Who do we have as a backup if Kane gets injured? Son playing out of position is all I can see.

Sheringham got sacked by Stevenage, he'd probably be up for being a backup striker. Always have the option of Darren Bent

Ok, a bit leftfield, but Damiao is still on a free, Betis pulled out of the deal.

Theoretically, would you take a punt on him on an initial 6 months contract with an option to extend if he gets fit and proves himself?
He's not set the world alight for a season or so now, but definitely had something going for him. Could stint in Pochettino's boot camp sort him out? Big powerful striker, decent finisher.

Never in a month of Sunday's is it going to happen, no suggestion we've even been interested for a year or two, and perhaps not even our type of target anymore, but since the post above tongue in cheek suggests Teddy, so just out of idle curiosity, and since we're lacking senior CF's, and Damiao's available, interesting theoretical dilemma.

But who cares? The only thing that should concern us, in my opinion, is what happens on the pitch.

It's almost as though those who appear obsessed with net spend, would be happier if we spent £100mil & missed out on CL footy, or silverware , rather than us achieve those milestones in the current manner of as little outlay as possible.

I just don't understand it, but each to their own!

He may be free but we'd struggle to get a work permit for him. Assuming that he hasn't already got a European Passport

She doesn't strike me as the sort of player who has much of a work ethic. I would rather promote a youth player tbh.

To put a little perspective on this "we will be doomed if Harry Kane is injured" hysteria I saw this stat in an FFT article (http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/...g-spurs-braced-watford-battle#:v7rpak_v2BH0VA). Here is a snippet:

"Without Harry Kane's 15 Premier League goals this season, Tottenham Hotspur would be one point worse off."

Don't get me wrong it would be worrying if H was injured, but I don't think it would be the end of our hopes of Top 4 if he were to miss some time.

It's not just his goals tho, he occupies the defenders around him leaving space for others. If he wasn't on the pitch who occupies them?? We have no other forward.

ITK - saw David Pleat walking into Barnet general hospital yesterday morning. That's it .

Actually it looked like he was on a mission, head down etc. Loved to have sat him down, had a coffee and asked him some stuff but it seemed a bit inappropriate. I have failed you all....:(

I'd like to sit next to him and ask his opinion on Pascal Chimbonda...

The reverse argument is that would anyone we bring in occupy them any better than Son or Chadli? I don't think they would. Most don't even have the same scoring records as those two and most people would tell you the strikers main job is to score.

Losing Kane is a huge loss with or without a backup. It's the same for every team anywhere when they lose a star key individual.

Bringing in someone that has "striker" on their business card doesn't magically fix things.

Which is an idea I thought most Spurs fans would understand with who we've seen here, but apparently not.

Case in point: who would you rather have as striker? Frazier Campbell, Soldado, Adebayor, Son, or any of the other dross strikers we've had? I think it's pretty obvious we'd want Son as he can actually play this system for Poch and score. The others are called strikers and yet wouldn't do as good a job, so why do we think some other random would just step in and do it? It makes no sense based on history.

He's the only one of our strikers who can hold the ball up to a decent standard. Far more to his game than just his goals

Some might find this useful too. Our head of player ID just tweeted;

Embodying your philosophy within the formulation & execution of a specific scouting process from identification to recommendation is vital..

12 months on, 146 live games later (non-THFC) & I'm more convinced than ever that a well defined process positively influences outcome #COYS

He sounds like a hippy.
