Versus the power of blind faith? Maybe people come to conclusions based on past experience?

Do managers always tell the truth at press conferences - you know like Bale is not for sale?

Where is the evidence that Levy will turn down £300m? Do you have an extract if the minutes from the last board meeting?

most probably because he knows selling before we go into the NWHL that £300m will be costly

I have just received some snippets information. Poch wants RB badly, against any ‘wait until summer Ross’. He has waited until January, and reason he did not go chavs. If we are saying same again he WILL sign for chavs now.

Goons favourites for Zaha in summer, if we don’t firm up agreement with Parish for then. He will not desert them in January, unless Palace pushes him; which they won’t. We cocked up in the summer when we had our chance. He has a clause to be allowed to talk to top clubs of fee is in excess of ******million. He would decide what he wants to do. His gang feel we did not treat talks with the respect and seriousness, as would be expected, and if the other lot came in he would likely go there.

RS, we have verbal agreement in place for summer. We want to deal now, and take him, with his brother staying until summer. Fulham want him (RS) to stay and push for possible play-offs. We want him (if we agree) to train 60-70% of the time with us if we agree such deals. Sess has already met Poch in summer, more than once.

Danny Rose feeling loved, and made up. Not a certainty he will go. May change if we fall off out of Top 4. Dier is ambitious, and do not be so confident we would not ‘consider’ if very good offer came in. Regarding Toby, it is not really about the money, as indications were in summer his team had all but agreed our offer. He wants to win trophies, and not wait 2 years to realise that. New stadium means nothing.

We have first option on Kluivert of Ajax, and couple more players interest us in Holland, with another also at Ajax.

We have 100% not bid for Malcom, and personally, from the vibes I am hearing, he is not our first choice. Poch has good relationships with peeps of Mahrez, and they have been pushing him in our direction. Doubt we will deal at fees it is believed Leicester would want.

Trippier won’t go in January, but possible in summer. KWP wants a loan, Poch wants him to stay, learn and fight. He believes he is not getting fair chances, and one of best trainers, always impressing. We have hinted we want to revisit his recent contract with a new one. He wants to wait and see.

Marcus very happy, but may want a loan. Poch does not believe it would do him good. He has 2 years after this, with option on another year. Poch speaks to him a lot, and Marcus is bulking up, and desperate to convince to even earn a bench place. You can understand his enthusiasm, and impatience a bit. He would not be human otherwise. He is very ambitious, and convinced in his own ability, without being cocky.

GKN will go on loan, or sold. VJ is done here. Sissoko going nowhere. He has impressed everybody with his turn around.

Back Poch is my advice!

So lots of interest but probably no firm action or arrivals. Doesn't feel as if Poch is being backed - but if he is aware of what's happening and is not too upset then hopefully all is good. Would have loved someone in to freshen the squad up a bit though.

Cheers for the update.

If Poch still really wants Barkley then I have no idea why we wouldn’t just get him now. If we don’t get him Chelsea will and they have no reason to wait.

We have first option on Kluivert of Ajax

This is the player I want, he looks the real deal from what I've seen. Potentially could eclipse his father. Only 19 years old, the perfect poch signing. Did I hear from somewhere we approached him in the summer but both parties agreed it was best he stayed at Ajax for this season at least or am I making that up?

Appreciate this update Hercules.

Mixed bag really. We seem to have some good targets regarding young players and it's pleasing to hear we've put a lot of effort into getting Sessegnon.

However, not good to hear that Poch isn't been entirely backed or helped with the Zaha and Barkley deals. If we've messed up with Zaha it does appear it may be too late to secure him now, although I think Levy should try for Poch if that is the number one wish of his. Barkley would be an infuriating one, he's entirely gettable, shouldn't cost too much and is a clear fave of Poch's. You've got to trust Poch in this instance, he's earned it after all. If he ends up at Chelsea we could certainly be in for a rocky road ahead.

"Poch wants RB badly....He has waited until January"

Surely if that's the case (and let's assume his injury is not a career limiting one), and he's only got 6 months left on his contract, then it would have be stubbornness of the highest order by Levy to not make it happen. More than that, surely a ridiculous own goal as it relates to relations with Poch. The absolute max we'd have to pay now is surely £20m or so, possibly a good deal less (likely settling on £12 - £15m would be my guess) and when you put that into the context of the broader transfer market we'd be mental not to go for that.

In the worst case scenario, you're making an instant profit on a player for a start, and a talented, young one at that, who could cover two positions.

It's a very difficult one to call this, because we know Levy wants to keep Poch as sweet as possible, and for Sanchez (way more of a risk at that price than Barkley is at this) he's clearly been prepared to spend.

My hunch is that if we really want him, and Ross wants us (we may now be less attractive frankly, given the competition for a top 4 place) then we'll get him.

I have another hunch though - if we dick around and leave it to the 11th hour with a view to saving a few pennies, we'll lose out to Chelsea

If that Barkley info is true then we're getting Barkley, there's no way Levy would jepodise losing poch for nothing it's not like Barkley is even expensive

A whole ton of info to digest there from @Hercules

One thing to pick up would be that it seems Aurier has now positioned himself ahead of Trippier and that a decision might have to be made between whether the latter is sold or indeed KWP.

Disappointing if it is KWP considering he's 'one of the best trainers' and 'always impressing' yet Poch has failed to give him enough opportunities - maybe this will change in the coming months.

Totally agree. May cost a bit, though.

Aurier's ability aside, it would be a mistake letting Trippers go. He's an exceptional talent but people prefer to focus on one or two weak points of a players game and use that as a reason to ship them out, not considering the benefits he brings. His crossing and eye for a pass is incredible, he's clearly been working hard providing Kane, Alli and Son with what they need, but I get the feeling he is another player who benefits from a run of games rather than the rotation we've seen for our wing backs in the last few months.

That said, KWP is 20 now so how long can he realistically accept the "stick around, keep learning" line? Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him off on loan to the Champs, which would probably suit him right now and give him a chance to really develop as a 90 minute man, then if we do end up shifting one of our back line in the Summer he'll be in a much better position to step up.

Thanks for the update @Hercules

Reading between the lines probably not much different to @Trix info.

Poch wants RB, but business side not stacking up for Levy. Hope this doesn't cause friction, or Poch yields.

Zaha or Mahrez would be perfect but well out of our price range.

Sessegnon possible but likely to be a loan back at best.

Frustrating as hell but it's the Spurs way. Was hoping we'd try to be more proactive to try to secure CL for the new stadium but doesn't seem likely.

Interesting on Rose. Handy until the summer at least if he is back and focused. We'll need him.

Dier and Toby a bit of a concern, but not totally unexpected. Matic doing well at Utd however so hopefully no crazy deals coming in for Dier, can't see Poch ever being happy to lose him.

As for KWP, hopefully he gets a chance vs Wimbledon. Do feel for the kid a bit. Assuming no mention of Onomah means he's staying at Villa. I'd have liked us to bring him back personally.

Certainly hope so. Knowledge of injury notwithstanding, he could be a great option for us across the front 3 or even in a 2 behind. If he kicks on, could even be a starter. Surely DL has to back Poch on this, especially in view of the history with RB (ie. last transfer window). Zaha stuff is presumably about us not offering the sort of contract he was expecting. Imagine that relationship would be difficult to repair so not expecting this to happen. Finally, do feel for Ajax. Such a fantastic club (have a read of Brilliant Orange by David Winner if you get time) but money available in England and elsewhere is killing them.

So Poch desperate for Barkley, but if Levy doesn't get him he'll go to Chelsea who will probably have no problem doing the deal.

Come on Daniel, Pochettino has earned full backing, and backing which is very much within the bounds of reasonabless.

Think Poch is delivering a bit of a (not so subtle) message here
"Always it’s tough for players who arrive at the last moment. It’s a very tough period to adapt and build confidence, and for the team it’s difficult too because you don’t know [them]"
