Anyone else concerned that Modric might end up at Chelsea if we don't go for him?

Or Utd.

They'd be all over him like a fat kid on a cup cake.

Desperate for a player like him of which there aren't many around.

I agree with what you are saying, but I do think we need a 'big player' to help us realise our dream of winning things. Sessegnon will take a few years to reach that kind of level, so I think we can certainly have Bale and Sessegnon in our ranks. I think we can look forward and go back at the same time.
The problem with buying young players, and especially young players who haven't won anything, is that when it comes to crunch time (going away to Chelsea needing a win for titles etc) they can come up short as they don't have the experience to play the game. They also tend to lack that belief of actually doing it, well Bale and Modric will have no qualms here as they've helped win the biggest games. That's what this team needs.

This is the player I want, he looks the real deal from what I've seen. Potentially could eclipse his father. Only 19 years old, the perfect poch signing. Did I hear from somewhere we approached him in the summer but both parties agreed it was best he stayed at Ajax for this season at least or am I making that up?

Really hope the other player from Ajax is Dolberg.

Very strange re modric. He's pretty much the biggest crowd favourite at the Bernabeu. There'd be huge uproar if they even got close to selling him.

Not sure how I feel about bale, and to a lesser extent, Modric coming back. To me it's like an ex dumping you when you're an unemployed bum and then as soon as you get a job, start dressing nice and their relationship with the ultra successsful prick goes downhill they come crawling back

Never go back, we should be looking forward rather then these players who are on the decline and will have no resell value so we're left with a crocked bale on huge wages. If we want to make a statement then go for the next bale: someone like pulisic or sessegnon
Only its not like that at all, because its not a relationship and about sentimental stuff but rather a very simple question. Would these players improve us?

Want to add, something I just realised I did not put in my post. I am sure, and believe that is where Poch is going with ‘get deals agreed quick...’

We WILL be spending big, not in the regions of citeh and chavs. We have eyes on some key big targets, if they can be done. Again; whilst I 99.99% do not believe this one will happen. RM are talking to us about Bale, and Modric wants to come back. I highly doubt either will happen, but more RM pushing, especially Bale.

We want to make a statement to ALL on moving into our stadium, along with sponsors etc. And on that note, we are prrry covered with big parties tendering their offers, along with a certain shirt sponsor. NFL especially is prepared to throw money at us, beyond 2 games, which in turn has got US sponsors falling over themselves. Asian market wants to join sponsorships as well.

Poch wants to be on par with scoucers in the forward alternative department, and a priority of his. I personally doubt Toby will be sold in summer, unless a crazy bid from a certain popular club is received. If-big if! He is sold, we will bring someone in from overseas, as UK market has inflated market for average players, much less ones we would want, like Mawson.

Please folks, stop using with no knowledge our financial restrictions, due to new stadium. COYS

I know not the most exciting part of the news but must be an important name.

Would love Modric back. He has spoken glowingly about us since Poch joined.

I must've missed that, what has he said?

Another positive aspect of signing Modric/Bale, players who may be looking to leave may decide not to as they believe it's the calibre of player that can help the team win stuff. I'm not into this transfer frenzy like your United and Chelsea fans are but I do believe we need a 'winner' these two are 'winners'

RM are bonkers. They don’t do things by logic. To sell Ozil and others is a case in point. No matter what we think, if offered 40 million plus for 32 year old Modric, they would accept it.

Let’s hope we’re not stupid enough to do that then

How it's football not about sentimental stuff ahah?

Why does it matter that we left WHL? Just a stadium who cares

Actually why support Tottenham? It's only sentimentality, I'm just gonna start supporting city because football is not about emotion or feeling at all it's just about winning at any cost

Obviously football is sentimental as a whole, but signing players really shouldn't be. Most players who play for Tottenham never loved the club, they are a commodity if a player can improve us we should sign them as simple as that really.

the 'name' must be pulisic. fits in with earlier titbits, plus the nfl/us/nike(?) angle.

just love hercules' updates, simply the idea of having modric back for a season or two is other worldly. adding him and pulisic to our current midfield would be insanely good.......(y)

Modric would bring unquestionable quality, vast experience and the know how of winning the games biggest prizes, all things our young squad are crying out for.
