Its funny all the criticism is surfacing now. We've often discussed him in here and never recalled such negativity.

I'm being negative comparing him with our supposed list of preferred targets. I don't think he is a bad player, he's quite good. But not on the level of others that ITK has linked us with so far this window...

Fair enough mate. But for me he's proven in this League, and we've no idea how the likes of some young foreign talent is going to get on over here - and given what we've got wrong recently in that respect

Was it @JJetset that said Mccarthy was plan H (or something like that) a while back or i'm I getting my ITKs mixed up?

If it was, then Mccarthy isn't who he means as JJ said it was plan A that he previously dismissed. I still think it is Rabiot, as Trix also said if he became available, he would move top the top of the list and the timing of JJ's tweet coincided with Rabiots transfer request.

It would be nice if JJ could clarify this situation. Is it McCarthy, is it Alderweireld, is it Bartra? Which ones are we not going for and which one are we possibly interested in signing?

I just can't see us spending £20-25m on a player this window. So I can't see us buying McCarthy. If he goes, he'll go for Schneiderlin price or more, as he has expressed no desire to leave Everton and he's on a long contract.

I suppose it could be anyone really. I'm curious to know which one. (Some might say that Alderweireld and/or Bartra might do the job as a defensive midfielder).

Agree much with this.

However it maybe that we are looking for 2 cm, departures dependant obviously. I have no doubt that James M is on our radar, as well as others, MS, Kramer, imbula, other MS, and probably many more. I like James M, would like more if he wasn't injury prone, and we could end up with him. I'm not adverse to this, would prefer some experience especially in top level European experience used to twice a week football.

I'd take rabiot, got a future, otherwise psg would not want him loaned only with there midfield. McCarthy I'd be savage as our master plan summer buy. Not top 4 material now or in the future.

Do you mean looking to bring 2 CMs in or just looking at 2 in case 1 is unobtainable?
