At this point, I very much doubt we will be singing anyone during pre season, at least until August. Maybe save for a under 21 player. After Lemar and Zaha went south I get the feeling we are not quite sure who to chase next. Saying that, if Walker leaves then I think we will move fast on a right back.
It's very disappointing. The way Poch was talking at the end of the season it sounded like we had a masterplan of what we were going to do this summer. And everyone at the club was united. All seems a bit underwhelming now.

Yep- the big boys are making their moves now and all we seem to have done is show mild interest in a few players before tiptoeing out of the room

You sound surprised unfortunately I think a lot thought this would be the case however we remain hopeful rather than expectant.

I'm always realistic, in that we're not shopping at the top end, but there are some talented young players out there that we could afford if we're ambitious.

The ITK seems to suggest we'll be looking at mouldable young talent rather than the finished article.
U21 tournament probably the shopping ground.

I'm balancing my jitters with your point above. It's interesting that the Nike tag line 'Watch Us Rise' implies we're very much looking at moulding young talent into something formidable. Just hope our targets are apt and gettable

I wonder if that 'household name' is still a possibility and, if so, who it might be.

Wish City would just fkin pay up, since if Kyle is taking the money I reckon we need to use half the fee to obtain a more expensive target (in addition to snaffling his replacement).

I'd be happy with Barkley, hopefully in good time for Poch and his team to get him fit.

Still leaves us with no competition for Kane or Dier at rcb, which would surely mean we won't be able to sustain a decent run in any of the Cups. The moment we drew anyone half decent last year we fell. That's flattering the Belgians as well.

Really hope Levy deals Poch in this summer and quick.

Don't actually get some of the thinking on here.City and united yes will buy lots of players because they need to ,we don't .At most we need 3 ,And there's still 6 weeks before the season starts.Even if we'd bought Lemar would he have gone straight into our 1st xi if Son was fit I doubt it.So whoever we buy which I'm sure we will ,they are gonna have to be some kind of superstar to walk into our 1st xi.Think about fergies successful united teams ,they usually added 1 or 2 quality players a season because that's all they needed.

If everyone was fit - Son would not be in the starting line-up - let alone Lemar. But they would both be nice options on the bench...

probably mostly opinion from dragon1:
Was never going to be a busy summer we have a 400 million loan to clear over five years and right now we don't have the increased stadium revenue or naming rights money in yet , we will be lucky if the move sissoko on and we spend that plus what we got for Nabil and carol

What did we get for Bentelab and Carol? Can't imagine getting much more than 15-20 mill for Sissoko

What about the walker money if he goes, won't that be reinvested?
