I would take Adebayor for Lennon if they threw Johnson into the equation...and I'm certainly not anti-Lennon.

But I would like to let them know we'd be doing them a favour:

Maybe we should have a daily thread where anything goes. ITK + media sources. It's what this has morphed in to and I for one like it.

I think he would, or at very least it would be very competitive. Lennon offers real pace which will stretch the hell out of the sides on their pitch - its massive.

The other problem we have, if there is any truth to this, is the wages City would offer him. I'm sure he'll be offered around 100k a week...

That's not a problem for us at all is it? If we agree to do the deal what he will be earning there is nothing to do with us.

I'd be very hesitant to go for this though, we are pretty light when it comes to wingers, we have 2 proper ones in our whole squad (discounting Bentley there I guess) and they tend to start most games. When 1 is unavailable that means we have to change our style as the players coming in are more wide midfielders than wingers.

We need to be adding a winger IMO not losing one.

I agree, there are so many times that there is no ITK and so essentially nothing to talk about yet this thread stays here pretty much getting spammed. May as well be used for media links too.

A transfer rumours thread wouldn't be too much different from this anyway and at present the only way to discuss media links is through the individual player threads which isn't quite as much fun as one thread.

Lennon wasnt pants, he wasnt at his flying best but he was never pants.


Lennon pulled it out so many times when it really mattered. He is very under valued tbh.

Johnson can not give 20% of off the ball awareness and defensive qualities lennon does.

Mate im not saying i dont rate him! i know he does his fair share of tracking back, which is very important. Lennon 2 seasons ago was amazing, you cant say he was as good as bale.. footballs all about opinions. my opinion is he was poor at the start. world cup or his injury?

Re: the "BLESSINGS" itk.

I believe we've been linked with Ezekiel Lavezzi this summer, and Ezekiel in hebrew means "God will strengthen", Ezekiel is also one of the latter profets of the hebrew bible, and the prophet Ezekiel is exiled in Babylon (us being exiled out of the top 4 and CL). So, Lavezzi would strengthen us and save us from our position outside the top 4?

The book of Ezekiel also features the rebuilding of Jerusalem, i.e our new stadium.

Lennon was poor in the league last season and noticeably wouldn't beat his man often enough.

He's a one trick pony seemingly reluctant to perform said trick.

but i will say something, an off form lennon was still better than the off form bale IMO.

I think with a full pre season under his belt and full fitness lennon will come back firing this season.

I hear you though regarding adding a winger, but dont forget a lot of the time we've looked good with one hugger and one tucking in, like the season we finished fourth.

My worry is that Harry was starting to use VDV on the right a lot towards the end of the season when he's obviously better off the striker. I know we were struggling for goals generally but effectively Harry dumped Lennon to accomodate strikers who were out of the form and then stuck VDV out wide were he isnt as dangerous - suffice to say he didn't have confidence or trust in Lennon at that point.

Hindsight is wonderful but IMO what he should of done was played VDV behind Pav and kep Lennon on the right, anyway I digress.

My point is I actually think there may be some truth in this rumour. City must know how desperate we are and obviously want to take advantage of the situation to strengthen themselves and possibly weaken us...but then we get the striker, so who knows if we are better off or not.

Personally I want to keep Lennon, on his day he is one of the most exciting players in the prem and he can be bloody deadly.

Does Marin play on the right or the left, I cant remember...how would people feel if we ended up with Adebayor and Marin...

To be honest when I posted the link I didn't realize it was not the done thing and didn't want to pee anybody off by doing so. But it has got a debate going which can only be a good thing IMO.

thin he plays predominantly from the left but can play anywhere across the middle, id take marin and adabeyor in a heartbeat

No need to apoligise, tis a very sound logical and well reasoned soultion to a cyptic hwoever Blessing can fit so many different players, Kaka is very religous for one, Christian Pulsen would link to blessings as well (I know we have no link to him, just using as example) and I'm sure if I spent ten minutes on google and researching I could come up with a few different names that work so there alas lies the problem with broad cyptics :bang:

Still hey ho, a bit of fun that has helped pass an otherwise very uneventful transfer window so far. I mean just imagine how many internet pages we have filled up with the infamous blue and yellow!

I totally agree and now that Steve's update exists one would hope for a little more latitude with paper stuff particularly when it overlaps ITK we have had tonight ie Adebayor etc...

Although I guess the player threads exist for a reason and perhaps if its relaxed a little then it might just get too crazy...think its happened before.

I really like this thread exactly how it is as it has a mix of everything, I dont mind the banter, irrelavant jokes, plus the ITK disucssion. I think it starts alot of debates and conversations and yes sometimes goes to far off topic but then I think the Mods do a good job of letting us have a bit of line to degress but when it gets too much they reel us in and send us to the relevant place to discuss.

There's a reason this is the most popular thread and I for one like it how it is!

One of the ITK has been sigining off mention BLESSINGS a few times, no one picked up on it untillhe pointed out it was a cyptic. Cehck the RO out it'll be in there somewhere but I cant remember who sorry!
