Yet another pretty quiet ITK day yesterday yet once again this thread stretched to plenty of pages and once again I get the feeling that maybe a snippet or two got missed in the rush to 'have fun' (or spam) in this thread. Now you all know what the primary function of this place is so let's not drop the ball.

If a snippet gets reported in here and it doesn't get slung into the RO a half an hour or so after it has been posted, it would be nice if someone either quoted it a page or two on so it gets noticed or dropped either chrissivad, MattyP or myself a PM with a heads up.

Your assistance would be appreciated.

Anyone been watching the Women's World Cup? England beat New Zealand yesterday.......Number 16 came on in the second half...
...so they had to substitute her.

Oh yeah, the ITK.........
Who:yidio
When: 01/07/11
Where: SC

Pedrozo IS coming. Not going anywhere near the first team to start with though, probably sent out on loan.

Desperately trying to seal our key signings before pre season. Not looking likely, and we have our fingers in many pies right now, so who comes in is anyones guess. But as said before, we have learnt our lesson and are trying to bring in players early. We are not far down the line with anyone though.

Modric staying, Bale staying etc.
Doesn't look good. Desperately trying, not far down the line.

Then we ryantegan, struggling to master his iPhone posting this on SC when he thought he was sending it to his mrs
I'm still stuck in tunbridge, we'll have to get a Chinese later
Apparently he had some explaining to do when he sent the message he meant to post on here to her.
oh dear, i let out some sex wee
Relax mrsryan.........He was talking about the new shirt

And that's it. We're done. Have a nice weekend, safe in the knowledge that we're trying hard but aren't far down the line with anyone yet.

For about the third window running.

Now then. Have you donated to SC yet? No? What you get all this and more and you haven't donated? Don't make me ban you. Just click on the donate button and part with the price of a gallon of petrol

Click here to donate.....You'll feel good

What are the chances of some decent ITK on the weekend? Or a signing for that matter?

Genuine question. Seems like most people take a break on the weekend, or maybe that's just my perception.

The chances are slim to none

From an as yet unverified ITK so I wouldn't stake too much on that.

Of course the important question is what secrets will we learn about ITKs today after Ryans candid admission that he eats Chinese?

Does POTL prefer mars bars or snickers?

Does BEN wear boxers or briefs?

Does Adiepf have a secret desire to be Graham Norton?

Stay tuned to find out!

Over on BBC there's some stuff from the papers. Most of you have probably seen in but if you haven't:

Bolton defender Gary Cahill could become Andre Villas-Boas' first signing as Chelsea manager. The 25-year-old centre-half, who could cost around £17m, is also wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham.

Tottenham are ready to listen to offers in the region of £10m-12m for striker Jermain Defoe, 28, to raise funds to buy Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi, 24, and Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente, 26.

Spurs have also approached Roma over the availability of their 27-year-old Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic.

West Ham have accepted a £10m bid from Turkish club Fenerbahce for midfielder Scott Parker, but the 30-year-old midfielder is refusing to uproot his young family.

Haven't seen this information posted yet so, there ya go

Well gervinhio seems to be claiming he turned us down so at least it shows it we're trying I guess...(Trying to be optimistic)

Not ITK but I'm just about to get a spurs tattoo :) and no they aren't tacky ;-)

I saw an article yesterday that said he had turned us down, but when I read it through it didn't mention us at all. It just said that, apparently, he had chosen to join Le Arse because they had a young group of players that he could easily integrate himself with.

Both would be dream scenarios (apart from West Ham getting that much money as well as getting Parker off their wage bill). This would be even better:

"Meanwhile, Aston Villa are also set to launch a £5m bid for journeyman midfielder Parker." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2010399/Aston-Villa-bid-5m-Scott-Parker.html

There's no way we'll get Rossi and Llorente.

As for Parker the key thing in that article is his 70k wages. If that's what he wants we may need to look elsewhere which is a shame as he'd occupy one of our 8 homegrown slots and actually be of use to the squad (unlike, for example, JJ who rarely played last season).

I would rather we sign Hazard than Gervinho anyway, and If Arsenal lose Fabregas and Arshavin (potentially Nasri also) Gervinho will have to be outstanding to actually improve them on the whole it would also take 2-3 more special signings.

As said yesterday things will start happening more from next week as everyone returns and you never know but hopefully Joe Lewis will finally decide to put his hand in his personal fortune pocket and buy Daniel/Harry some players, as the superstar/marquee signing wont come unless we start paying the bigger wages and the bigger fees to the selling clubs as brinkmanship doesn't get you the big players early :-|

Yeah that is an issue, particularly with our start to the season.

At the same time though if we don't have the structure to pay the bigger wages then brinksmanship is what we have to go with.

Hopefully some of the deadwood will leave next week and then things can get going.

Looks like Gervinho will go to the Arse but he isn't an Arsenal type player as he gives the ball away too much. Very exciting and will do and pull off some great things but not all the time!!

Just wondering where the claims of him turning us down are from.

His quotes on France Football just mentioned Arsenal was the best team for him. No mention of Spurs or anything.

Philippe Auclair, who has good contacts in French football said the other day on Danny Kelly's show that only Paris St Germain and Arsenal were the only teams with serious interest in Gervinho.
