Our bag of Revels transfer approach is coming back to bite us. They’ve mostly been coming up raisins, and lo and behold no one wants the raisins (because they’re fucking disgusting). Entirely a problem of our own making.

That Llorente info really annoys me. He was an awful signing last summer and the majority of us knew it, it was a stupid decision when supposedly there was interest in January and we rebuffed it and now we’ve pissed away £15m plus whatever the contract was for the season and we’re struggling to get rid? Absolute shambles.

That’s just not true. A premier league, World Cup winning striker with bags of experience having won leagues and cups for a low fee on paper was exactly what the squad was crying out for.

It's 'whether' by the way.

Love a bit of Foxxy ITK. Spot on. Bit worrying we can't shift the deadwood to upgrade but 1st team is still solid.

Let’s face it clubs are gonna wait to get a few quid off our players just like we try with other clubs.

On paper, yes. On the pitch, If you think a 6ft 5inch beanpole who can’t run, can’t get involved with intricate build up play and relies on crosses to the backpost is what we need in this squad then I wonder what football you watch.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

If we tried playing to his strengths then he probably would have contributed more.

As easy, no make that as fucking easy as it would be for me to start tearing into R2D2 over this, I'm not going to. The time for that would be when the window closes so until then, I'm keeping my massive store of powder dry. He might actually do well in the end.

Worth remembering that the ItKs share info with the mods that we aren’t privy to. Personally, I’m still hopeful that there’s a couple of targets we’d like that are as of yet not known about ala Davinson Sanchez last year

Exactly. #Andy Booth (e)? Gregor Raziak.

I'm actually happy with the ITK. If we can't get what we want we have more than enough to cope in the meantime. If we end up with a few promising talents coming in while the scousers spunk £80m on a goalie I'm confident we'll top them again this season.

I get the point that we seem to make a fair few signings that don't work out for one reason or another, but what I don't get is the disrespect those players are receiving. Just because they're not working out doesn't mean they're lazy or useless, it just means we're not the team for them and they'd be better off elsewhere.

That’s what I’m saying. It’s not bloody hindsight, it’s watching football and understanding how we play. It’s not rocket science. Even I can work it out.
Don’t talk rubbish. We have one of the best 2 fullbacks in terms of crossing ability, we have players like Eriksen who can put the ball on a sixpence, if you remember the likes of Dier and Toby would often go direct with raking balls - on paper it was right and that’s what you go off, because unless you are mystic meg reincarnated (wonder what happens to her) you have no idea how the dominos will fall.

Ha yes I was going to just say we have some low quality moneyball signings no one else wants bloating our squad but you put it much better

If Poch is in agreement with this approach of one weak squad player player out / one elite player in as a road to success I would be genuinely astounded (and disappointed)

What I’m surprised about is the possibility Levy bought Llorente with the hopes of making some of the investment back on him. Unless I’ve misinterpreted the struggles of shifting is just outright no one wants him

Actually Poch pretty much said Janssen and GKN were lazy and useless didn't he? On the other hand, he loves Sissoko and Llorente.

There were certainly merits to signing a plan B, especially late on vs bus parkers (Look at Giroud and Fellaini for the merits of this). The issue was the team didn't actually adapt to that plan B whenever it came on. That's ultimately on Poch but also the players.

The worrisome part for me of the GF ITK is that we have had no bids on the players we want to get rid of. If the buys are dependent on the sales and we have no bids, I think that is definitely cause for concern.

I also thought Herc said early in the window that being “brave” according to Poch is buying before we sell. Sounds like that has changed. I understand why with wages and a bloated squad, but they run the risk of not getting anyone if they wait to get rid of the unwanted. There is a reason they are unwanted so Levy can’t expect good fees for them.

Hope it all works out. If nothing happens by next Wed, I assume we can all really get nervous.

opinion based on the current market and the need of the player to them, there is no way they are letting him go for 55m imo

Fair enough. I have no idea about his market value. I just hope we get our business done in time!

All info is much appreciated from the itk’s.

But Danny boy brought the squad players and will have to let them go below his rate. Most are good players who would grace a smaller prem side. When we play Llorente we stop doing the crosses. It has made my blood boil at matches where he has come on as sub. Play to his strengths and you would get a reward.

Liverpool are not selling any players yet but they sure have strengthened their team.

We need a marquee signing for our new shiney stadium.

Unfortunately at this level you spend high and sell low to get The trophies.

Our squad will not survive another year without winning something. This was all said by itk’s and Poch at the end of the season.

Bravery to you Danny Boy means opening your wallet now. Fucking Please.

Maybe we should save our crying until after we see how our established squad does

But then you and others will be saying wait until the season is over for F.S etc etc.
So allow the supporters who wish to express dissatisfaction and vent.

It's clear to many in here that we behave like a small time club who are happy to make up the numbers in the PL.

Many a supporter has been patient whilst the stadium was being built.. Naturally theres an expectation that money is set aside to make meaningful signings. Yes i and many are also aware we still have to pay the stadium off.
