Should just kidnap Mourinho and have done with it.
Stop pansying around any further.

It's great to hear about vertonghen, but I worry about potential lack of progress in strikers.

off topic but met lennon in vegas a few days ago and he said he had no idea who was taking over! Was pretty sound guy tho, was getting moved away from his table in tryst by bouncers, he came over and had a photo with me. Mates saw him in rehab too.

What?

Difficult situation. We don't want to rush a managerial appointment and end up suffering for it for years. Then again we need to get some signings in quick. Just wish we'd had something secured before sacking Harry.

one things for sure if no manager in place by time players come back for pre season, that will be the biggest joke yet!!!

we can argue and talk about pro and cons of any manager coming in but to have no manager in place when by all accounts we have been sounding out managers for 6 months since harry would not accept contract , wud be something that would bring spurs to another low. that surely cant be the case.
Who said we have been sounding out managers for the last 6 months?
Who said Harry wouldn't accept a contract? That's not the case as it Was on the table then off in a classic switcharoo manoeuvre !!

Early pre-season can be handled by any coach - HR probably would not have been involved anyway if he had been at Spurs.

Levy probably looked at a few managers when HR was likely to go to England - then stopped when woy was appointed.

Brand new search started after HR left - after the rumoured favourite (Rogers) was off the list - so that 6 monthe reduces to a couple of weeks.

Try recruiting a top person in any walk of life and it would have been a miracle if anyone had been appointed already.

At risk of stating the obvious - wasn't there a realistic possibility of Harry leaving for the England job? Surely Levy and co would be looking around at who could replace him?

Really? I don't remember rdm getting the sack?

Before rdm appointed as manager - whilst lots of speculation as to who migt be appointed to succeed the interim manager rdm whose contract had ended at end of the season

well hearing trabzonspor's chairmen today (confirming we have made a bid) about Burak Yilmaz and also Leandro revealing a million times that we have made bids for him .. we are definitely active in the striking pursuit

im sure that we will be in the market very very soon .. but hoping at the same time to act swiftly (y)

Was Daniel practising his Paul Daniels magic set tricks on Harry?

"Here's a 4 year contract Harry, can you just say the word abracadabra for me?"

Actually asked him to spell it. Of course, Harry couldn't. Unless he lied under oath...

In response to JJ's 'Manager is more complicated' comment.

Is it possible that AVB has a clause in his Chelsea contract payoff preventing him from taking over us or anyone prior to a certain date? If he had, that would certainly be 'complicated' and could prevent an appointment before a particular time.

I know f-all about such contracts but just wondered, cos if Abramavich has paid AVB £13m or whatever to get rid, he probably wants AVB to F-the F-off for a while. Maybe if we want AVB we're talking compensation?

Just a thought!

To be fair the last time we took our time and made an appointment (3/4 a season under Pleat!) we ended up with Jacques Santini!! Lol

Chelsea initially spent 13m bringing AVB in, and then they wanted to sack AVB: hence they had no bargaining power at all and it is doubtful that there is such a clause, (and if there is a clause it is doubtful that it would be only for 6 months...)
