Interesting that Lloris has said one more year and Utd (I believe) mentioned De Gea staying this season (and allegedly joining Madrid on a free)...
Hugo is happy at spurs, he's solid àmazingly, I can understand him giving it a year, he's one of the best keepers around. It's a push for us to get CL next year but I wouldn't be shocoed if he stayed if we didnt. He wants to see stability and progress going into his peak. Can we offer that? I honestly don't know but it seems like the people upstairs are backing the current regime more than I've seen in a long time

if we aren't closer to the Cl next season than this it won't just be Lloris that wants to move on.I can imagine Erikson and Verts also wanting to go.

If they were truly backing them then we would have signed or be close to signing a player that will make all the difference and not just balancing the books. If Kane goes off the boil we are truly screwed. We got away with it last year if you ask me.Next season we may not be so lucky.Poch is just more realistic in his targets than AVB was.Any manager coming here knows the score.

If they do as well next season to make the top teams want to buy them we may well get top 4!

Got to say, we have no idea how close we are to signing anyone and the windows is still very much open. It's not all down to us when the deals get done man

Think it's time to realise that such players are extremely difficult to get, it's not just about backing the manager with targets, they have to be realistic.

It seems to me that footballers like Lloris, it's not all about the money. But, "he wants to see stability and progress going into his peak"? I'd of thought it would have more to do with "he wants to see us challenging for major honours and winning medals, going into his peak". Can we offer him that?

This line has been trotted out for years amongst the "all is great" Spurs fans for the last two decades or so who, IMO have no ambition! When is this patience going to return dividends?

If we have no ambition, we wouldn't be building a world class development center or building a stadium....
When I say patience, its not just about buying players. In last decade, we have had numerous managers come & go. We have had a turnover nearly 50 players in & out of Tottenham in 5 years. We need to show patience with manager, players , management - especially when our club will be financially stretched while building the stadium.
First time in long time, I feel comfortable how the transfer window is handled. Hence I am asking for fans to show patience.

If you want instant success - am sorry you would be disappointed.

thankful of that lloris itk. with him staying at most 1 more year, i hope we really gun for a top class cm and a cover st/lw. if we get a top cm, which gives us a higher chance of making cl, lloris stays, cl prize and final standings pays for the cm. lets say we splash 25m then we fail in getting cl, we will be selling lloris anyways.

the worst that can happen is not getting a top cm, fails in getting cl, lloris leaves

It won't pay out until we get bought by an oil rich sugar daddy or our new stadium finally starts paying dividends. Unfortunately with the way the money men have got involved Until then we have no other option but to support our team?Simple isn't it? Otherwise you could do what all the Chelsea "supporters" did and go and hide for 50 years and come back when we start winning stuff on a regular basis after said sugar daddy splashed all his money

I've shown patience for over forty years. We need to start competing at the top table
