I do find it funny how whenever we make a bad signing, people instantly blame Levy. But when a signing comes off Poch gets all the credit amongst fans. Can’t work both ways.
Poch wanting Llorente shows he can make mistakes identifying some transfers as there’s no way Levy wanted a 30+ year old for £15m. However I’m constantly reading fans saying that he was a Levy signing and he wanted a cheap option.
Levy can’t always be the scapegoat

Llorente, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Njie, Wimmer, Janssen, Llorente there's been some right shithouse signings during the Pochettino reign so far, not to mention that integral players in our first team such as Lloris, Rose, Vertonghen, Eriksen & Kane were here long before him.

Plenty of top class investments in Dele, Toby & Son etc but some proper duffs as well. It can't always be Levys fault when things don't work out.

Now, SIGN GREALISH, ZAHA, NDOMBELE & MARTIAL!!! SIGN THE WORLD!!!

Do try to keep up man. It's quite simple. We might but may not, could and couldn't, will and won't and last but not least...... :borg:

You forgot "shouldn't have, but couldn't resist".

When I checked in earlier, Herc was basically saying it’s all gone tits up and the slapheaded dwarf is to blame.

Now seeing stories that Zaha and Grealish signings are imminent.

Is that roughly where we’re at?

Multiple ITK offering word from varying viewpoints and people worrying that we'll be left behind because there's nothing concrete with 19 days left in the window - especially as previous ITK had suggested that early deals were preferred, perhaps even in place for pre-season.

It's all a bit polarising.

I thought it was a good idea when they announced it but obviously was not thinking it all the way through!
Just wait for next year when we have to deal with work permits again. Ah, Brexit... can’t see how that would mess anything up at all!

Haven't been here in a while, but thought I would offer my thoughts.

Our whole transfer window effectiveness and potency is being held up by the inaility to shift certain players out of the club.

Yet, it's the very same players we have ended up buying in 'desperate and last-gasp panic buying' in previous windows that we can't now shift.

What does this show us?

1) Our transfer window strategy is poor, ineffective and too 'reactive' versus 'proactive'.
2) The packages and wages we offer to desperate last-gasp transfers are disproportionate, inflated and makes them impossible to shift if the gamble doesn't pay off.
3) Levy's 'cunningness' (that used to be cute) has now become easy to read by other clubs and plays against us.
4) Our transfer strategy is ill-thought-out and out of date.
5) As a club, we are poor at learning and evolving, to stay one step ahead of our competitors.
6) We are easy to read.
7) Levy, feeling guilty in his ineffectiveness at the end of the trasnfer window, makes poor, impulsive decisions to try and grab favour with supporters at the end of the window.
8) We end up back at point 1.

If Levy (who is obviously a good 'business' person) can't see this cyclical pattern of dysfunctional behaviour...then he needs to bring in a strategist to work alongside him...who can provide alternative points of view, fresh strategies and different perspectives.

I'm sure Levy knows Einstein's Law of Insanity. I just can't comprehend how he can allow his own stubbornness to keep playing out a failed transfer window strategy over...and over...and over...again.

Top tip for next season...do things completely differently...and surprise the market.
A fresh approach (whatever that might look like).
And stop taking on driftwood to appease fans in the dying moments of the transfer window...because you won't be able to shift them later down the line!!!
Then we end up back at the beginning of the whole fucked-up loop!!

Over and out.
I'd add that in a market defined by personal relationships (between Chairman) being the outlier and generating a fairly deep well of bad will through bad faith dealings has a short half life. I wonder what the list of clubs who won't deal with us looks like now.

Well I'm thoroughly confused by the last couple of days. No idea what to expect now. Fingers crossed.
Answer is not to expect anything I reckon. We will put out an excellent team against Newcastle. Anything more is a bonus.
