So we need to sell to buy, because of wages, as opposed to player valuations?

Why don't we just set the value for these players at an amount where we can get them out the door?

With all respect to our players, if I was a buying team I wouldn't touch a £95k per week Sissoko, a £75k per week Llorente and a pretty flat footed Janssen with a barge pole. Better players out there for the money they'd cost you

Levy has never worked like that, he is going to have to work some serious magic with this situation. We are being bitten for poor choices in previous windows.

Let’s get something straight here. HY is not wrong. But now the club are leaking through their connections. As far as I know with more information which I dear not share, this is ALL DL’s fault! I have no agenda against him. But his games of bluff and dear is backfiring. And I warned about this when those were championing early TW closure, and believing that we (EPL) could call the shots to buying clubs-we can’t!

There is no way we will put 6/7 players in sales I’m next 2 weeks! Absolutely no way! So from HY’s info then, we are fkd!

We have to complete our incomings, and do loans, and whatever ‘risks’ are needed, they have to apply. The club bought this upon themselves, by trying to be too cute.

Very sorry; that happens to be the truth and the issue.

Anyone still want to defend Levy and our transfer policy?

If this is the case then Levy has two weeks to swallow this and sort his shit out. If the money is there and he's used his time being cute then I put a lot more blame at his doorstep.

For Premium players, its a sellers market. His policies from when we were a mid table team challenging the likes of Everton & Swansea for a signing needs to change.

Time to evolve Daniel, time to put your money available where your mouth is

Levy trying to be too cute. No! Levy? He would never!:cautious:

Im glad about this though. Karma for the PL. They destroyed the market by paying absurd fees and now they fucked themselves by thinking Europe will cowtow to their bullshit closing shop early. Good.

Cant wait for the 'defend Levy at all costs' brigade to appear and call some of us pathetic and negative. Some of us could see this coming a mile off.

We are standing still compared to our rivals and now finding out we may be unable to strengthen too. But hey...we have a new stadium and a team that got 3rd right?...we will be lucky to be there again this season at this rate

He's got to risk shifting these players abroad after the window. Loans will do the job until we sort ourselves out next season. We've got to bring in a couple of good players.

This is honestly where you take a short term hit and lose a bit of money to get the deadwood out for the long-term gain. Business is all about weighing out the pros and cons of sales and potential investments and levy is a shrewd businessman. Surely he recognises that losing some money so that we can improve the team is the best course of action. With the tv deals and new stadium income we should be able to cope, especially if the squad then performs better

Sissoko will be hard to shift, but the other two could do a job at a team lower down the league. Llorente is nearing the end of his career so £50k + bonuses wouldn't be unreasonable if he was playing week-in week-out, as opposed to sat on the bench for another 9 months

As for Jansen, the guy's work-rate, pressing and hold-up play was good; would suit a bottom-half club just fine or move back to Holland maybe?

I know people will probably laugh at this post, but you have to remember that different club's have different objectives and will recruit accordingly

The way I see it now, we've completely fucked this window.

Clearly Levy isn't going to pay out for players unless we get big fees for Alderweireld, Dembele etc and there probably won't be any movement there until after our transfer window closes. Can't see United meeting the asking price we want for Toby and I doubt anyone will offer more than £20m for Dembele.

We simply have to keep Alderweirled and Dembele for another season, add Jack Grealish and just hope for the best. I expect nothing else from us.
