ali z on bale: we have talked to club and Bale (rep) possible but more a levy thing IMO, not that Poch said no, do i think it will happen 30/70 imo, a lot of cards need to fall our way for this to come off.

My reading of the
So far as any real intel on Bale is concerned, I would guess it’ll hold till after the UCL Final.
Good plan, waiting for him to score the winning goal, do a Ronaldo and remove his shirt to reveal a SPURS-4-EVA tattoo next to the THUG LIFE one he got last week after finishing a dodgy bowl of Sangria at Modrics's annual mini golf tournament. Im right there with you bud (y).

But you sort of have

I sort of haven't. ;)

At no point did I mention my thoughts on the matter.

Latest ITK says he is staying. That is all I wish to focus on. (y)

As already stated, if we can get him back firing on all cylinders, more than happy with this news.

I would suspect rumors of Rose staying is because no-one relevant is interested in him after last season.
I think he was tapped up by someone like United who were desperate at the time and have now moved on after coming 2nd.
Great news for us as he was just about capturing his old form by the end of the season so will be like the, proverbial, new signing next season.

Wanyama's a difficult one, I think that he may just be a victim of tactical changes for what Poch wants from a DM. He seems to prefer the more static role that just sits in front of the CBs rather than the roving one that breaks up play throughout the middle.
I'm not convinced Wanyama suddenly decided to stop running around last season, I would think he was asked to play a different role which he's nowhere near as suited to as Dier.

And Bale is a 100% no-brainer, the Indecent Proposal of the footballing world returning to his childhood sweetheart. A top class player leaving one of the big guns to joins us in his prime would be a huge statement both on and off the pitch. A forward three of Bale, Kane, and Alli would be a marketing mans dream in this country and would force the press into a serious re-think of how we are portrayed.

Does this imply that it's more Levy that wants him rather then Poch saying we must get him. Sounds like this deal will be a headache and last all summer.

Poch has publicly said that he'd welcome a Bale return. I honestly can't see him not having enthusiasm for it (however likely/unlikely it is).

I think Levy sees him as a marketing tool and he'll sell a shit load of Bale merchandise, and he's not too shabby to boot.

My wild excitement of last night has just been tempered by 30/70...:(

This. The perfect way to raise our profile some more (in the absence of silverware). Nike will be happy too with Bale if it boosts the sale of our kits.

Also, look at Bale’s welcome and profile when Wales went to China recently. That’s another phenomenal maker for DL to tap into.

And if Levy gets Bale back the Levy haters will be quiet for a while
I gave this a 'doh' rating and I'll tell you why......

It was pointless. Blurted out for the sake of it, in some misguided defence of daddy.

The "Levy haters" have hardly been vocal lately have they?

It made me literally walk out of the office, into the street and shout 'doh' at the top of my voice three times. People turned and stared. Two Gurkha kids pointed at me and one old lady laughed and said "a deer, a female deer'.

Look at what you made me do :nailbiting:

No wonder the BSoDL have such a bad name on here :D

from levy's perspective getting quality players in whose merchandising alone would fund them as well as hugely raise our profile worldwide has to be the stuff of wet dreams surely.

there's been so much itk about bale that i think this may well happen now, things just seem to be aligning. as for other players fitting this mould who can also fit our system keeping both levy and poch happy, there's a clear one from germany that i hope ties in with the other itk we've had.

the timing just seems too perfect, not like us at all..........:nailbiting:

Does anyone remember who the 'bap bap Americano' ITK we had a few years ago was about? And who uttered it?

I'll be running a poll about what your most infamous piece of ITK was so far I can recall

Torres 'done deal' by Mattjb on COYS
Blue & Yellow by POTL
cabbages by, erm, The Goat
bap bap Americano by ?

Then there was fazza who insisted Arshavin was done, he had a massive meltdown

Aqayid, something about a name of the back of his shirt? (David Villa) Or he was taking us to court for calling him a WUM, there were so many from him :D

If there are others (and there probably are) that a I've missed feel free to PM me, but the PM you send MUST have "A&C You have a 12 inch chopper" as the title otherwise I won't read it. Don't clog up the thread. PM me.

Not sure what to make of the Wanyama ITK.

He looked a real bargain signing when producing outstanding displays in 16/17 season.

Not as good this season, but injury to comsider. I did actually think his passing improved somewhat this season.

Of course, if Poch has a notion that he can snare a player to improve this position, then it can only be seen as a positive.

Maybe it's because there is a lack of top notch LBs available as to why Rose maybe afforded the opportunity to recapture pre-injury form, but Wanyama maybe not.
